What in the WORLD is “MIRR Mentors?”. Well, We’re excited to share a comprehensive slideshow about who we are and what we do at MIRR Mentors. This post breaks down the most commonly asked questions: what MIRR Mentors is, why it exists, how our programming works, who we serve, and the long-term goals we’re working toward. Whether you’re new to our mission or have been following our journey, this is your chance to learn how we’re building identity, confidence, and opportunity for students in D.C. public schools.

Post-Session Reflections from Our February 27th Storytelling Event!

After our incredible Storytelling Session, we had the chance to speak with several of the 25 amazing Howard volunteers who participated. During their post-interviews, many shared how inspired they felt by the energy and curiosity of the students.

The volunteers mentioned that the kids were highly interactive, asked thoughtful questions, eagerly participated in discussions, and showing genuine excitement throughout each reading. We loved that you all got to experience how meaningful it was to serve as a beacon of inspiration and representation for these young students.

Thank you again to all who took the time to pour into the next generation. Please DM us if you were mentioned as we’d love to tag you!

Be sure to follow our page for more opportunities to get involved this summer and throughout the upcoming school year! @mirr.mentors. #howarduniversity #howard #volunteer

Hey Y'all! I am Kadijah Mansaray, a Freshman Computer Science Major from Northern, VA. In just a few months at Howard, I have taken on leadership roles, including Howard University Alternative Spring Break (ASB) Team Leader, and initiated the establishment of Howard’s first collegiate DECA chapter. I was also nominated and selected as a Grassroot Voices Fellow, where I receive mentorship in leadership while implementing my own community-focused initiative, called MIRR Mentors.

I strongly prioritize self care and maintain a passion for fitness, intercultural cooking, fashion, and travel. My intellectual curiosity extends to philosophy, criminology (Criminal Minds is the #1 best show ever, NO DEBATE!, logical puzzles, and psychology, where I also actively participate in psychological research studies at Howard.

Above all, I aspire to be an entrepreneur. I plan to launch my own business that empowers tall women through inclusive fashion and another one that provides innovative skin and hair care solutions for black women!
