$⬅️ SWIPE LEFT! Few cars have left a legacy quite like the Nissan GT-R. What started as a high-performance Skyline in 1969 went on to become one of Japan's most iconic automotive nameplates, earning its reputation through motorsport dominance, ground-breaking engineering and decades of innovation. From the original Hakosuka's racing success and the incredibly rare Kenmeri to the R32's domination of touring-car racing, every generation brought something different. The R33 refined the formula with improved handling and aerodynamics, while the R34 became a worldwide cultural icon through Fast & Furious, Gran Turismo and the growing popularity of Japanese performance cars. Then came the R35 in 2007, a car that completely changed the game. With its twin-turbocharged V6, advanced all-wheel-drive system and supercar-rivalling performance, Nissan proved it could compete with some of the world's most prestigious manufacturers at a fraction of the price. After 18 years, R35 production came to an end in 2025, closing another remarkable chapter in the GT-R's history. From naturally aspirated straight-sixes to twin-turbocharged performance machines, the GT-R has remained one of the most influential names in Japanese automotive history. Six generations. Over five decades of history. One legendary name. Which GT-R generation is your favourite, and why?
