Workshops come alive with activities that engage, energize, and inspire!
In one session, I used the Circle of Truth, where participants shared insights in an open, honest space, building trust and connection. We also wrapped up with a fun recap game—dancing and playing with a ball while reviewing key lessons. It was engaging, unforgettable, and impactful!
Workshops aren’t just about learning—they are about transformation. Let’s create experiences that inspire action!

AT THE BEHAVIOURAL CHANGE CONFERENCE & EXHIBITION 2023

The Lux Terra Leadership Foundation participated very actively at the 2023 Behavioural Change Conference and Exhibition which was held on Wednesday the 15th of November, 2023.

The event which was organised by the members of a Behavioural Change Cohort, a group of governmental and non-governmental organisations working to put an end to the menace of corruption in Nigeria, served as an avenue for the cohort members to showcase their works and success stories so far, and to find ways to create greater synergy in the work they do.

Our Executive Director and Project Coordinator were also on different panels to discuss the success stories so far and the ways forward. In addition, we exhibited our products which we made freely available for interested persons.

Find some images from the event.

YOU CAN SAY NO!

Have you ever used a ride hailing service (Uber and the likes) and the driver asks you to go offline so he can have 100% of the money to himself alone? What was your response?

You see, we need to begin to live and make choices more intentionally because propositions of all kinds come to us on a daily basis which require a NO but we almost always reply with a YES. When we talk about corrupt and unethical practices, we are quick to look at politicians, government workers, law enforcement agents and judicial workers. But what about you? In what ways do you say YES instead of NO?

Did you say yes to that Uber driver who wanted to go offline?

Did you say yes to your friend who wanted to help you tamper with your mudu or measuring scale?

Did you say yes to your fuel attendant who suggested that you adjust your fuel pump since "others are doing it"?

Did you say yes to your friend who brought the idea of lacing party food or cake with Marijuana?

Did you say yes to those who proposed new ways to beat the system and bypass your metre?

Did you say yes to the offer of registering your child at an examination "miracle centre"?

Think about the times you said yes when you could, and should, have said no. What we're trying to do is simply remind you that you don't always have to say yes. You can say no and be firm about it. Remember the song we sang as kids;

Wherever you go,
Wherever you be,
Do not say yes
When you mean to say no.

Some of our NYSC Champions of Honesty took the campaign for integrity to the FCT College of Education, holding a workshop for both staff and student, and thereafter staging a road walk.

At the end, they told the story in the attached video.

Who says Nigerian youths have nothing to offer?
Who says Nigerian youths don't love their country?
Who says Nigerian youths don't know what to do?
Who says Nigerian youths are lazy?

We have a few questions for you on #AdvocacyThursday today.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW NIGERIA?

Take a look at that map. How many states can you identify?

You see, you cannot be a patriot, you cannot love your country, if you don't first know her. And you cannot do right towards your country if you don't first love her.

What is the Nigerian dream? Do you know?

What are our values? Any idea?

Where do we derive these values from? Tell us.

Do you know enough about Nigeria to love her? Do you love Nigeria enough to do right towards her?
And this is not about some charlatans masquerading as leaders. It is not about some irresponsible policemen or soldiers. It is not about ministers who don't even know the meaning of the word or lawmakers who think it's only about the millions they can make. Or steal. It is not about governors who rule their states like absolute monarchs.

It is not about contractors who do shoddy jobs or their counterparts in ministries who inflate contract sums. It is not about fuel marketers who create artificial scarcity in order to cause fuel price increase.

It is not about irresponsible spending by the government officials, or the oppression of the citizens of the country using the instruments of state. It is not about creating unnecessary offices just so they can create avenues for "money for the boys." It is not about endless renovations and procurements that bite hard into the resources we do not even have anymore

It is about YOU.
It is about posterity.
It is about what you do in your own corners.
It is about the things you say concerning Nigeria.
It is about your actions (or inactions) towards Nigeria.

Patriotism is not loyalty to the government, but love for the country. Therefore, it doesn't matter what some politician or supposed leader is doing. The politician is NOT the country.

So, how much of a patriot are you?
How much do you know about Nigeria?
Do you know Nigeria enough to love her and do good for her?
For this is the only way that we can reclaim our country from those who have hijacked it. For ourselves, and for posterity.

There should be no giving up! There should be no looking back!

OUR VISITS TO SCHOOLS

As you know, we are journeying with four schools in a very intensive manner to further our campaign for integrity in Nigeria.

We believe in the importance of investing in youths who will be tomorrow's leaders and professionals. This is our reason for engaging the students of these four schools intensively. And not only are we engaging students, we are also engaging the members of staff and the managements of these schools. The aim is to have schools which give as much attention to proper character formation as they do to academic excellence.

Last week, we were on such a school visit to St. Peter's College, Garaku, Nasarawa State. That was the third of our four schools which we have visited in the new academic session. The school community was, as always, open to us and that led to very successful learning sessions.

Attached are images from the visit.

NIGERIA: WHAT CAN YOU DO...?

What can you do to make Nigeria better than it is today?

Do you think you can contribute to the Nigeria of our dreams?

Take, for instance, Kabiru the carpenter who ensures that all his furniture works are durable.

Or Mama Nneka who sells okpa moving from one place to the other and making her customers happy such that any day she doesn't come around is such a sad one.

Cynthia is a teacher who makes her students happy with how she prepares and teaches her lessons. Her learners love her and look forward to being in her class everyday!

Adeiza, a traffic warden, directs traffic with a smile and keeps accidents from occurring at the intersection where he works everyday.

Oluwatoyin drives everyday to and from work and stops at the traffic light when it turns red. She has been insulted and harassed by fellow drivers on the road but she ignores them and keeps doing the right thing.

Emeka works in a big government agency and is known for his uprightness and integrity. He arrives at the office punctually, refuses every form of bribes and strives to do what is right at all times. His colleagues laugh and scoff at him, calling him names such as "Holy Holy", "Man of God" and so on. But he is not deterred in any way. He keeps doing what is right.

You see, even if you're unable to do something big to make Nigeria a place of our dreams, you can do the simple, usual, normal things and achieve same result.

Wherever you are, whatever you do, we encourage you to do all you can to make Nigeria better than it is today.
In your sphere of influence and control, you can do something!

Be the change you want to see, and in small trickles, with the little efforts we make, we shall definitely have the country we desire. If you cannot solve the problem altogether, don't add to it.

TODAY IN PICS

Our engagements with the students of St. Peter's College, Garaku, Nasarawa State continued today. Indeed, the issues are many. But with everyone playing a part, we believe that children can be built to be the best version of themselves.

And this is why we do the work.

We have brought to an end our engagements with the entire student population of St. John Bosco Comprehensive Secondary School, Okene, Kogi State. This is in continuation of our efforts at intensifying the campaign for greater integrity in Nigeria.

We are glad to see them in high spirits and very receptive of the messages we brought to them. It was really good to see their determination to make individual and collective changes and make themselves and their school much better than it is.

It is also pleasantly refreshing to see the efforts the management and staff of the school are putting into not just building future leaders, but also making their school into a centre of excellence in both character formation and learning.

Our train will be moving to another school very soon. Can you guess which school that is?
