In 1995 i found myself in a position of a leader unwillingly, unknowingly same year i started traveling abroad, in 1996 i was privileged to lead a team of dancers to USA as a lead dancer/choreographer, 1998 i started taking my own dance group abroad, and since then it's been on and on from one high post to the other with series of terrible frustrations but i keep moving on with my head up believing it's one of my missions in life since i keep finding my self in positions i never fought for or really contested for.

I appreciate my maker for strengthening me when the going gets rough and tough but still in the midst of those difficult periods i keep deriving great pleasure in doing my thing, keep putting smiles on faces, and most especially enabling the generation next realize it's a profession and not a hobby.

I might not be there physically sometimes but it feels good to work hard to make it happen for this younger generations take another higher step to their future ambitions as artistes and it gladdens my heart doing it. If you haven't had the privilege to work/connect directly with me i'm sure you must have in a way or the other worked/connected with many that i have impacted/trained directly or indirectly; that means the positive impact lives ON....It's about how, where and who the spirit leads me to because HE is in control not me..... This is another achievement to the glory of God, the faces of the newly impacted by Ijodee Foundation representing Nigeria at one of the world's biggest festival organized by Egyptian government. It's the beginning of another beginning.

Heat and heels is really not about the steps, you have to feel every movement for the dance to actually come out. - #LeaMarianne

1. On January 1st of this year 2018, we launched a project that has been generally hailed as a fresh #idea, it is a dance/music #video piece titled #RainMakers. One of the reasons for making the RainMakers dance #Music video, is simply because this year, our mission at @QDanceCenter is to reach newer #audiences, both locally and internationally, and one way to do that effectively is through digitization of our works, not simply by making a recording of our live #performances, which I’ve never been a fan of, but create an entirely different object out of an existing work, how do we reimagine the plot for #camera? how will #cinematography create its own proper reinterpretation? How do we retain #abstract form without going overtly didactic and simplistic in our narrative, that it actually magnifies the force our audiences felt while watching us live. I have a feeling that our last year was characterized by a wider outreach to a more international and a little more sophisticated local audiences, and we want this year to be a year of reaching out to the mass of the people who aren’t on the #island and aren’t probably moneyed enough to be on social media to watch a five minutes video. IJODEE FOUNDATION is established to strictly encourage and empower dancers; most especially Nigerian dancers.

After years of research we discovered the major problem facing the dance industry in Nigeria is the inability to be equipped with detailed information and education needed for the dancers to live and stand upright for their basic right in our society.

IJODEE FOUNDATION set's out to help enlighten, support, equip and educate the less privileged dance practitioners in our societies.
As we continue to make plans for a better future of Nigerian dancers, kindly join our course, be part of the future success of the foundation's beautiful dreams for Nigerian dancers.

With determination and positive mind set we pray to make the foundation a global one.

NOTE:
More information about IJODEE foundation's detailed aims, objectives and future plans shall be online soon as we continue to progress with focus and determination.

Kindly follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter all @IjodeeFoundation.

Happy new year!
