Well, unfortunately for Harris Silver, it appears he has broken another law. California Building and Professions Code and the Architect’s Practice Act, Section 5536 (for both) prohibits any person from claiming to be an architect or able to provide architectural services if one lacks a license to do so. What BPC 5536 Prohibits- An unlicensed individual in California may not: • Practice architecture: without a valid license. • Use any term confusingly similar to "architect": in their job title or advertising. • Use the stamp of a licensed architect . • Advertise or use other devices: (like business cards, websites, or online profiles) that might indicate to the public they are a licensed architect or qualified to practice architecture. Examples of Violations • Describing services as "architectural services" without an architect in management control of the business. • Using terms like "Arch" or "Architectural" on a company website or social media profile. Consequences of Violation • A misdemeanor charge, punishable by fines and/or imprisonment. • Administrative fines from the California Architects Board. • Denial of a future license application. Since Harris Silver has claimed to be a trained Architect over 20 times on his social media platform, he is alleged to have broken these laws repeatedly. He has been reported to the California Architects Board. He will likely never be a licensed Architect in the State of California. #stopLyingHarris ALSO - The Architects Practice Act, Section 5536.5: Any person who violates subdivision (a) of Section 5536 in connection with the offer or performance of architectural services for the repair of damage to a residential or nonresidential structure caused by a natural disaster for which a state of emergency is proclaimed by the Governor pursuant to Section 8625 of the Government Code, or for which an emergency or major disaster is declared by the President of the United States, shall be punished by a fine up to ten thousand dollars ($10,000), or by imprisonment..

It appears Harris Silver has expanded his area of misinformation to encapsulate all of the burned zones in the Palisades Fire aftermath, and he is now harassing Palisadians about the manner by which they should be rebuilding their neighborhoods. His words are 'THE FIRES HAVE PRESENTED US WITH A BLANK URBAN CANVAS. IT IS AN OPPORTUNITY...' No, Harris. The fires have not presented US with an opportunity. The fires have devastated several thousand people, all of whom were chased out of their communities by flames and destruction. All of whom are rebuilding in the manner they choose to rebuild. You did not get affected by the fires in any way, whatsoever, except you have been exploiting the disaster for your own benefit and self-promotion, since mid-January. Please stop. Let everyone rebuild in peace. To add insult to injury, Harris seems to think he knows how to build transportation networks for a community he has never resided in or been a part of than the people who are rebuilding. His latest nonsensical ploy is to present himself as a transportation engineer, and advocate for a reimagining of Via de la Paz in the Pacific Palisades. His idea to destroy half of the road's width and insert a bike path that is not needed to serve the 800 or so residents on the street is ridiculous. The two-way street with free parking on either side (as it currently is designed) is perfect for the community, the school and the church. Please just leave everyone alone Harris. We all are tired of your nonsense. Stop crapping on our community. We aren't crapping on yours. Everyone should also know Harris deletes any comment on his posts that differs from his weird outlook. He is trying to create a 'cult of personality' around his horrible ideas, and he sees himself as the newest dictator for the planet. We don't need your crap, Harris.

Since February of 2024, a brash, brutal voice from Santa Monica has been constantly trolling PCH cyclists, motorists and communities. This voice has misappropriated the tragic deaths of over 50 people on PCH for the purposes of pushing his horrific agenda of preventing Malibu citizens from rebuilding in the wake of the Palisades Fire. Consider yourself lucky if you have never heard his voice. His main refrain is that PCH is unfriendly to cyclists and nature, and that it needs to accommodate more people on electric bikes. Such an idea is beyond idiotic. He seems to think a garden on the south side of PCH will solve every problem in the world of coastal California. Does anyone complain about KT-22 not accommodating beginner skiers and snowboarders? Does anyone complain about Teahupo’o not being welcoming enough for groms and soft-top surfers? Reducing PCH to an e-bike friendly pathway for the entire population of Los Angeles is akin to building an accessible ramp along the entirety of the Pacific Crest Trail and calling that progress. It simply will not happen, and it would be a crime against the cycling community and Malibu. PCH is a gift to the citizens of California and the cycling world. CalTrans has created and maintains a Perfect Cycling Highway. We have been cycling through Malibu, on both sides of PCH, since 2009, and we have NO COMPLAINTS. Cyclists travel to Malibu and PCH from all over the world to ride on this exceptional stretch of asphalt, which offers views of gorgeous mountains, pristine valleys and streams, and incredible architecture. We cannot think of a better iteration for a cyclist’s paradise than the current version of PCH. Perfect Cycling Highway, indeed. The only way to make it better is to celebrate the rebuilding of every coast-adjacent home damaged by the recent fires, and cycle beside them once the new version of east Malibu is rebuilt. If you can’t handle the (PCH) vibes, you don’t deserve the ride. #home #beach #coastal #conservation #teamwork #construction #expertise - #Rebuild #architecture #rightsofcommunity #rebuild #rebuildandchill #nature #cycle #cyclist #PCH #perfectcyclinghighway

ONE. One out of the 720 Malibu homes burned down in January has been allowed to commence reBUild construction with a building permit issued on 8/1/2025. This pioneering Malibu homeowner will be under scrutiny for the next few months, as his beach adjacent parcel transforms from a burned lot into a world-class home, reminiscent of the home that used to be in the exact same location. Malibu is the epicenter of premier coastal living, and the architects and engineers who have helped homeowners here create their dreamscape ought to be applauded. The team for this homeowner excelled at navigating the circuitous paths of planning and permitting in Malibu, and there are many other talented design professionals who are doing the same thing for 719 other families. We are all for it! The latest Rebuild and Chill podcast dives into this permit, the process by which the team may or may not have mastered the art of Malibu Planning and Permitting foreplay, and the deeper issues of sewer construction, canyon and coastal design standards in the community we all call home. You can hear all about it on YouTube and Spotify. Today, Harris decided to trespass on private property in Malibu, once again, and call for some sort of protest about the sale and development of NINE beach adjacent parcels. NINE. Out of 327. This is not something to protest, but something to allow. A real estate developer will put up capital to build back 3% of the beachside homes lost in January, after purchasing them from 9 families that chose not to rebuild. 318 other families are rebuilding, Harris. This real estate deal is a good thing, Harris. You know what ISN'T A GOOD THING? Trespassing. Calling for protests about a community you know nothing about; a community that hates your insidious noise pollution and is tired of you trespassing, stomping on our memories, and calling us criminals because our homes burnt down. Constantly victimizing homeowners who are rebuilding and exploiting a natural disaster for your own 'fame.' These are not good things. PLEASE STOP. IF YOU DO NOT STOP, you will be arrested. It is not legal to stand on privately owned property just because you have a phone with a camera and you know how to b___tch and moan and cry while holding a button. LEAVE MALIBU ALONE. We aren't crapping on your neighborhood. Stop crapping on ours!!! We are rebuilding EVERY HOME ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF PCH. Why? Because we want to come back home. Frustrating your 'revolution' is just icing on the cake. #PalisadesFire #MalibuStrong #HarrisCantSurf

As usual, this gnome Harris Silver is using every opportunity to push his insidious agenda of promoting an ill-conceived park on private property, instead of allowing a community to rebuild. To be clear, Malibu homeowners would much prefer to see a real estate developer buy up, design and construct rebuild properties, then sell each home to a family. Such an outcome will ensure the protection of our beloved coastline, and is much better than the crazy ideas purported by a wannabe surfer and wannabe artist that seems to be fixated on misappropriating the legacy of Marvin Braude in a horribly conceived bastardization of a good idea. For over two years, Mr. Silver has been instigating a fight with the community of Malibu. Why? No one knows. Maybe he was humiliated for being a total bozo at Surfrider one day long ago. Considering he can’t surf for s__t, he surely annoyed the wrong surfers any time he tried to paddle out. Maybe he is just crazy. It is clear that he cannot fathom a world full of successful people owning land adjacent to a beach and sharing in the community stewardship of our beloved coastline. He cannot imagine a community of families that thrive in and around the coastline, the hills and the canyons of Malibu. He cannot accept regrowth that isn’t in his narrow vision of the world. Thus, he lashes out, posts slanted, exploitative opinion on the happenings of a community 18 miles northwest of his own community, and trumps socialist propaganda that anoints himself in the Leninist/Jong Il position of a ‘dear Leader.’ No Harris, we will not follow your self-congratulatory conversations and schemes. No Harris, we will not listen to your objectification of a community and diminishment of a family neighborhood that has every right to rebuild. And no Harris, we will not let you continue to trespass on private property because you hold a phone and you spew noise pollution on a daily basis. Please leave us be, and let us rebuild. We know you won’t stop your tirade, but we won’t stop rebuilding. See you in 5 years when every home is rebuilt. Or we won’t. That would be better. #rebuildingthebeach #Malibu #surfBetter #buildBetter #liveBetter

720 Malibu homeowners are rebuilding, and another 512 Santa Monica mountain homeowners are rebuilding alongside us. We are here to help. At 5 PM, this Tuesday, at the Malibu Library, the Malibu Rebuild Task Force is hosting another workshop for Malibu and LA fire survivors, in order to share the strategies that we are using to rebuild our homes along the coast and up in the foothills. This workshop will focus on materials: choices each homeowner will need to make with their design team as they move through the design and planning processes. There are new products, recently engineered and tested, that can alleviate high costs of construction and safeguard your rebuild against future wildfires. There are also ancient techniques, that have been improved upon with structural engineering in recent years, that may give each homeowner a beautiful, resilient space able withstand fire, wind, noise and seismic forces. Please come join us and discover the right strategy for your rebuild! The workshop is free: please note that there is an occupancy limit, so please come early! We are also broadcasting it on ZOOM. The link is embedded in this post. With the help of talented community members we will rebuild Malibu, better. Rebuilding the coastline will protect it for everyone. Rebuilding the hillside homes will save the plants and animals all around. Families will stay where they belong. We will not stop until every family is back home in Malibu. The City of Malibu correctly reports that 720 single family residences burned in Malibu as a result of the Palisades Fire. Most people do not realize that the City of Malibu does not include every home south of Piuma Road in the Santa Monica Mountains, and believe every home south of Saddle Peak is a Malibu home. It is true that all the homes just beyond the reach of the city limits are part of the Malibu community, and thus, we consider them part of our group of rebuilding families. When one looks at all the homes in the Malibu region that were burned in the Palisades Fire, not just within the City limits, the number goes up to 1,232 families displaced temporarily: this amounts to 54% of the families who lived between Coastline Drive and Carbon Beach, south of Piuma Road. We at @SP__MV will work until every one of them is back home. Of the 720 homes within the City limits, 94 percent of them have had their debris removed, and many have submitted Planning Verification applications, while a few others have moved forward and submitted for Building and Safety permits (permit for construction). The numbers, as of 8/05/2025, are as follows: 96 homeowners have submitted for Planning Verification (Step 1): 13% of total homes damaged by the Palisades Fire in Malibu. 41 have received Planning Verification Approvals (Step 1): 5% of total homes damaged by the Palisades Fire in Malibu. 7 homeowners have submitted for Building & Safety permits for construction (Step 2): 1% of total homes damaged by the Palisades Fire in Malibu. 1 homeowner in Malibu has received a Permit for Rebuild Construction, and you will all see this rebuild progressing along Pacific Coast Highway daily. With the help of talented community members we will rebuild Malibu, better. Rebuilding the coastline will protect it for everyone. Rebuilding the hillside homes will save the plants and animals all around. Families will stay where they belong. We will not stop until every family is back home in Malibu. The magic of Malibu is in the stories and the stilts that have elevated coastal living to the wondrous heights found in this community. 770 homes in Malibu burned in the Palisades Fire. About 90 percent of them have had their debris removed, and many have submitted Planning Verification applications, while a few others have moved forward and submitted for Building and Safety permits (permit for construction). The numbers, as of 7/27/2025, are as follows: 88 homeowners have submitted for Planning Verification (Step 1): 7% of total homes damaged by the Palisades Fire in Malibu. 32 have received Planning Verification Approvals (Step 1): 4% of total homes damaged by the Palisades Fire in Malibu. 7 homeowners have submitted for Building & Safety permits for construction (Step 2): 1% of total homes damaged by the Palisades Fire in Malibu. 0 homeowners in Malibu have received a Permit for Rebuild Construction. It takes a community to build a house; it takes a major community effort to rebuild a coastal and mountainous neighborhood back from scratch. With the help of talented community members we will rebuild Malibu, better. Rebuilding the coastline will protect it for everyone. Rebuilding the hillside homes will save the plants and animals all around. Families will stay where they belong. We will not stop until every family is back home in Malibu.
