GoS hailing from Sweden fuses independent watchmaking with ancient Scandinavian traditions. One of the most eye catching details of Patrik’s timepieces is the incorporation of Damascus steel, which is an ancient metal working technique that Vikings would use to harden their swords. In the process, beautiful patterns would emerge in the metal creating a waved effect.

HIP HOP HOROLOGY 🔥 Many thanks to @xhevdet.rexhepi for the warm welcome in his atelier. We probably spent more time talking about our favourite rappers than watchmaking 😅 but it was a pleasure to finally see the amazing selection of Minute Inerte in the flesh and understand the full creative inspiration that drives Xhevdet.

Behind his unique and colourful designs there is also technical poetry happening. The seconds hand on the Minute Inerte takes 58 seconds to turn before pausing for 2 seconds. It’s at this moment that the minute hand is triggered, jumping instantly by one minute (slide 5).

What’s your favourite colour? The green dial has my heart and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
