🇬🇧🇮🇹In Trieste, a visit to the Fotoni exhibition, by Ila Bêka, a photographic collection taken from his historical archive. Forty years of personal research on display. The space is that of the Magazzino delle Idee, one of the warehouses of the old port, converted into a cultural and exhibition centre. Theme of light and body, of darkness and obscurity, but also of self-irony.

Trieste incanta.

.
“How does space affect our physical, psychological and emotional state? Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoine explore this question through the lively and intimate form of the conversation with twelve renowned architects for whom perception and sensoriality play a central role in their work. The Emotional Power of Space gathers stories of sensibility which reveal the intuitive and irrational forces at play in our relation to space.”

After so many years spent in a country that has welcomed you, it’s always a great pleasure to receive such a gesture of affection. And besides, I’ve always dreamed of being a wandering knight like Don Quixote!

Next Thursday, 3 September at 6:30 PM, join us at bruno (@books.bruno) in Venice for the book launch of ROMA VIETATA, together with Luca Galofaro (@luca_galofaro) and Ila Beka (@ilabeka)

Once upon a time, Rome was entirely reachable by car: you could park anywhere, and the squares were not mere scenery but spaces for everyday use, places to be crossed, occupied and lived in. The book traces the history of freedom of movement prior to the advent of limited traffic zones, railway rings, pedestrian areas and the utopia of the smart city. Paradoxically, this book explores the future of Rome through what has become forbidden.

The book is available on our website and in bookshops

presentazione libro

Stefano Ciavatta, Luca Galofaro (a cura di) - Roma vietata. Viaggio nella città raggiungibile, Humboldt 2026

03 settembre 2026 | h 18:30
