Chat Session 178 with Michelle and Tyra @mpitalianfesta   Topic- La Dolce Vita: Celebrating Italian Food, Culture and the Sweet Life   Monday 26 October 2026 1pm https://rppfm.com.au @rppfm   On the Mornington Peninsula, Michelle Loielo and her daughter, Tyra Gourdouros, are bringing people together through a shared love of Italian culture. They organise the Mornington Peninsula Italian Festa, a not-for-profit celebration of food, music, family and community.   The Festa returns to Rosebud’s Village Green on Sunday 1 November 2026, with around 7,000 visitors expected. For Michelle, the event grew from a simple idea: share the traditions she grew up with and bring a little Italy to the Peninsula.   Michelle’s connection to Italy began in Riace, Calabria, where her parents were born. She spent part of each year there as a child, surrounded by Italian food, language and close-knit community life. Today, she brings that same warmth to Unica Cucina e Caffè, her Rosebud restaurant.   Tyra, 19, studies law and business at Swinburne and manages administration for the Festa. She coordinates more than 40 vendors, supports sponsors and volunteers, and helps ensure the event is safe and welcoming.   Working together has strengthened their bond. Michelle brings experience and vision; Tyra contributes energy and organisation. Their Festa celebrates Italian heritage while welcoming everyone to share in the food, music and community spirit. A charity dinner on 30 October will raise funds for a CT scanner for Rosebud Hospital.   Read more about @mpitalianfesta https://www.thedailymirrorwithcathy.com/blog @the.daily.mirror #mpitalianfesta #shareyourstory #chatsession178 #mornintonpeninsula #thedailymirrorwithcathy

Eccellenza italiana, passione senza confini.

Please come and join us at the Italian Festa in Carlton this weekend! It’s a fantastic celebration of Italian culture, food, music and community, and a great opportunity to catch up with neighbours, friends and local traders. When: Saturday 17 October, 11am to 10.30pm, and Sunday 18 October, 11am to 8.30pm Where: Royal Exhibition Building and Grounds, 9 Nicholson Street, Carlton Entry: Free, no booking required I’ll be there with Jess Wilson, Victoria’s Opposition Leader, and we’d love to see you. Jess was travelling across Victoria on her Fresh Start Tour, listening directly to families, small businesses and local communities about what matters most to them. Her message is simple: after years of rising costs, growing debt and pressure on essential services, Victoria needs a fresh start, with a government that listens, delivers and puts people first. Jess and the Liberal Nationals team have a positive plan to reduce crime, ease cost of living pressures, support local businesses, fix our roads and restore confidence in Victoria’s future. Most importantly, Jess wants to hear from you. Come along, say hello, and share your views on the issues affecting our community, from safety and housing to local services and the future of our neighbourhood. Being of Italian heritage, the Festa reconnects me with my roots, my family’s story, and the traditions that shaped me. So join me for this Festa 🎊 !!!! @melbourneitalianfesta Hope to see you at the Festa! 🇮🇹 Rafa for Melbourne @rafa4melbourne @rafaforlocals @jesswilsonmp @liberalvic @mulc1925 @youngliberalsvic #carlton #melbourne #rafa4melbourne #cityofmelbourne #rafaelcamillo
