🎬 What happens when childcare costs push mothers out of work? The Motherhood Penalty kicks in where women experience disadvantages in pay, career progression and financial security after becoming mothers. Researcher Salomé van Leuven has produced The Motherhood Project: Childcare Crisis - a powerful short film exploring the realities of motherhood in the UK. The UK is now the third most expensive country in the world for childcare, contributing to 1 in 4 women being forced out of the workforce. The goal of Salomé’s film is to raise awareness and start conversations around the topic of childcare so more women feel informed and empowered to advocate for themselves. 👏 @mmm.makemothersmatter thanks the entire team behind this project and the women who shared their experiences for helping bring these realities into the public conversation. 🎥 Credits: Researcher / Documentary Lead: Salomé van Leuven @sal.vanleuven Film Director: Alex Dunning @alexdunningdirector DOP: Luke Scully @lukescullydop Producer: Catarina van Leuven @m.catvanleuven Hair & Makeup: Ili Newson @ili.makeup Learn more about the project here or Linkinbio: 👉 http://www.researchwithsalome.com/personalprojects 💬 Have childcare costs affected your career choices or opportunities? #MotherhoodPenalty #ChildcareCrisis #CareEconomy #WorkingMothers #ParentingAndWork

Cam and Mac were each other’s constants; as adults they have drifted. It takes the recent passing of their mother for them to be reunited. Picking at the scabs of their trauma in the cottage in Kent they once called home, patched-up memories bleed anew… As a tale about self-discovery, introspection and personal growth, A Modest Agony can be regarded as a visceral coming-of-age film with horror undertones that speak to the trauma that plagues our protagonist. Created by James Bryden Rodgers 📽️ Directed by: Anton Blaubach 🎭 Starring: James Bryden Rodgers & Maxim Ays 🎞️ Produced by: Paranoid Media BTS by @robin_niedojadlo ✨ Stay tuned for updates & be the first to see it! #comingsoon #shortfilm #filmmaking #indiefilmmaking #postproduction #bts #storytelling #supportindiefilm #dramafilm #filmmaker #cinematography #director #filmproduction #setlife #mustwatch #cinephile #amodestagony #ukshortfilm #ukfilm #productioncompany #paranoidmedia

On the last day of 2023 I would like to thank everyone including all my friends and family who have supported me through this year. Thank you to all of my colleagues and employers 🥰 I managed to move house thanks to you! I’ve met some incredible people this year 😎 Although it has been a difficult year for all in the world of film, reflecting back I have learned so much in the crowd rooms and main teams I have worked on. This year I managed to survive on purely dailies which was a first time for me and it was nerve wracking but also quite freeing in many ways. I’m available for work in 2024 and in the meantime I wish you all a Very Happy New Year full of health and happiness and hope to see you all. 💕🥳🎆🎇💫✨
