Not many people see what happens behind the scenes of Hijack.

Nearly a year of filming.
15-hour days, 5 days a week.
Every department pouring their hearts into bringing the vision to life.

A moment on screen can take months to create.

Colour work — era-defined, trend-aware, researched for the city or country in which the story is set (here, Berlin) — every shade reflecting individuality.
Precision cuts. Skin fades. Hair pieces. Wigs. Injuries. Piercings. Intentional scars. Grunge finishes. Every detail builds a character. Every choice is intentional.

Continuity is everything. Tattoos, scars, wigs, piercings, makeup — reapplied daily so every appearance is identical.
30+ additional hair and makeup artists, Teams arrive up to 4 hours before an 8am camera call, starting at 4/5am, finishing 7/8pm on top of drives to and from work, Then it all starts again the next day.

Background artists are part of this world — each a character with a story, a full life, interpreted and maintained through costume, hair, makeup, wigs, scars, and accessories.

All of this happens in close collaboration with our brilliant Hair & Makeup Designer — shared vision, creativity, and the beautiful ideas from every member of the team bring it to life.

The real magic isn’t on camera. It’s the laughs. The long days. The bonds. The little moments in between. ✨

I had such an amazing year working in the crowd hair & makeup team , with crowd supervisor @madlenmierzwiak and designed by @sianwilsonmakeup ❤️ Such a fun and creative job. Definitely worth a watch.

Live, laugh, loving life as of late 💃🏻

Today is International Hyperemesis Gravidarum day.

For the past couple of months we have been working on a personal project about MOTHERHOOD. We’ve had privilege of interviewing a diverse group of mothers and mothers-to-be around London, understanding their reflections, the joys, challenges, and everything in between.

Our first film focused on the Motherhood Penalty. This one focuses on Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a potentially life-threatening pregnancy disease that may cause weight loss, malnutrition, dehydration and debility, due to severe nausea and/or vomiting.

HG affects up to 30,000 pregnancies in the UK every year, however it’s a topic that’s barely spoken about (many only know it as the “Kate Middleton disease”). As a result, many women experiencing it feel misunderstood, isolated, and alone in their suffering.
