No sit-down, no formal interview just @diekolaaina in his element, walking us through his collection, one work at a time.

As he moves through the space, you begin to understand that collecting, for him, is not about speed or spectacle. It’s a process patient, intentional, and deeply considered. Works are acquired over time, sometimes in pairs, allowing the story of the artist to unfold more fully, more honestly.

What emerges is more than a collection. It’s a living archive one that documents moments, preserves histories, and quietly challenges how we think about value.

In his own way, Kola is contributing to something larger: shaping culture, shifting perception, and moving society forward one piece at a time.

Art is the real-time archive. The emotional footage. The time capsule. Years from now, we’ll remember the art that carried us through the headlines.

In this episode, @niyiadenubi unpacks how artists, like @nengiomuku document the chaos, courage, heaviness, and hope of right now. Exploring why culture moves deeper than policy ever could.

Happy New Year guys 🥰🥰🥰

On our next episode, we sit down with @rv_windsor , gallerist at @windsor.gallery , and @thenahous , as he walks us through his journey and the incredible work he’s doing not just in our beautiful city of Lagos, but across the continent.

He makes one thing very clear: the art ecosystem is a collective effort. Artists, gallerists, art enthusiasts, and even the government all have a role to play in ensuring Nigerian art is respected and valued globally.
