SOUL SIDE VINYL IS HERE. 📍 For our first Adams Avenue Street Fair, we’re bringing one of my favorite MCs of all time and an iconic producer to Normal Heights: the legendary MASTA ACE, alongside MARCO POLO. Our first in-store performance was the legendary DJ Qbert. Now, in that same first year, we get to welcome another hip-hop icon to the Soul Side stage (on the intersection of Wilson and Adams). Having two of my personal favorites rock with us this early has been a blessing—and we hope the community has enjoyed these moments as much as we’ve enjoyed putting them together. This one hits different for me. Disposable Arts is one of my favorite albums and I can run it’front to back. I’ve talked about it during Soul Side Selects and put it on the table at our Hear Me Out event. That joint stayed in heavy rotation for months after its release and still gets plenty of burn. Now we get to hear the man behind it live on Adams Avenue. No disrespect to anybody who has touched the Street Fair stages before—but this is by far the most legendary act —MASTA ACE AND MARCO POLP— in the history of the Adams Avenue Street Fair since 1992. 🤫 And if I can get more traction on booking for more of these stages, I’ll chase down ‘92 as well! New style hustle is at its core, a social dance. And the great thing about a group of friends that you social dance together with, is that every time you hang out, you dance. You’ll find us in the club, sure. At our socials of course. But we also danced together at the beach, parks, museums, coffee shops, raves, Janet Jackson concerts, breaking jams, dance battles, silent discos, maritime symphonies, movie theaters, karaoke boxes, restaurants, and our living rooms, just to name a few. It’s a blessing that a group of likeminded people made possible. This is my chosen family @newstylehustlesd And I want yall to know that there’s always room in our family for more likeminded people. We have a really loving community here. Thank you for the dance @sloanem_art and the video @deguz.media . Love having you in our family.
