It’s about time I say thank you to everyone who made this the most amazing summer I could’ve asked for. Thank you for everyone who supported me and allowed me to participate in it. Thank you to the Madison Scouts. And most of all, thank you to the Madcyms. I love you all.

I can’t wait for what’s neXt.

A summer of firsts, countless hats, self-growth, great friends, and the best sharks ever. Here are some thoughts from the midst of it all:

Tuesday, July 28, 2026
Capitol Heights, MD

I am SO happy to be back with this perc staff. They’re so smart, kind, funny, and are wonderful friends and people. I love working with them and hanging with them even more. We were all crammed in the van tonight (with guard staff too) and l was laughing and having such a good time. I feel more free to be open and myself here. That’s a product of the people I’m around, the fact that it’s drum corps (and it still holds that sense of wonder), being in the sun, and just gaining more confidence in myself and my teaching.

I’ve said this every summer since I started:
I feel like l am and can be the best version of myself in drum corps.
While it looks a little different this year as an educator, there have been so many more moments of similarity than I expected.
I continue to learn and develop - as a musician, as a performer, and now as a teacher. I’m still learning from and spending time with incredible friends. I’m still doing drum corps!!! I’m still very much a part of the activity that has impacted me beyond words and continues to affect me!

And of course, I continue to feel so proud of myself. I take so much pride in the knowledge I have and in the opportunity and ability I have to pass it on. I’m proud of the work I’m doing, the relationships and connections I’m building, and the way I’m carrying myself and my values through it all.
This season so far has brought out some of the worst in me, and also so much of the best.
I am thankful for all of it.
