Photos from @fortuneferretproductions Plum Valley Idol Festival Vol.0 Rising DC Hello, this is Hoi/Steve. First I would like to thank @fortuneferretproductions for having this event.  A brief introduction of myself, I take photos of local SoCal idols and I was invited to take photos for PVIF DC. I hope you all enjoy these photos and it reminds you of why you do it.  Why you fly  across land/ocean to Washington DC, why you and your four other friends spend  four hours driving from NYC to DC in the same car, why you spend countless hours practicing a routine in front of a mirror, why you and your five other friends spend four hotel nights in a two twin bedroom, and why you work so tirelessly behind the scene to put a good show.  It feels like this Post-Otakon taiban is a reminder of why we love idols and this idol scene. 💙OTAKON 2026💙 This was the best con experience of my life so far. I literally ran between concerts, festivals, and meetups for four days straight, and loved every second of it, even if it meant I barely slept or ate during that time LOL On top of that, I got to see my friends from Boston, NJ, and the DMV, moots from Discord and Instagram, and even made new ones on top of that. I PHYSICALLY cannot tag everyone on this post if I wanted to 😭 When I was lucky enough to meet Marmalade at the very end of the con, I told her that idols changed my life. I have never felt a greater sense of purpose since I found myself here, and regardless if I’m performing on stage, cheering in the crowd, or helping behind the scenes, I always feel so fulfilled getting involved with this community. Having conversations like that with her, and similar ones with others this weekend, energizes me to grind even harder on the GAUNTLET of projects that I have coming up 💪 The memories from this con will live with me forever, and I’m so god damn grateful that I got to experience them. I hope that everyone else I saw feels the same, and that we can convince even more people to come to DC next year 🫶
