The Book at Bedtime: Song of Achilles, BBC Radio 4
For @radiotimes

Tom Hollander reads Madeline Miller’s masterful retelling of the Trojan War - an electrifying tale of love, ambition and immortal fame.

In Ancient Greece, in the Age of Heroes, the awkward young prince Patroclus, is exiled to the court of King Peleus, where he meets his son Achilles - strong, swift, and beautiful. Despite their differences, Achilles befriends the shamed prince, and as they grow into young men, their bond blossoms into something deeper.

But when news comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped, the heroes of Greece are called upon to lay siege to Troy in her name. Seduced by the promise of a glorious destiny, Achilles joins their cause, and torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus follows. Soon the cruel Fates will test them both and demand a terrible sacrifice.

Exciting News! I am thrilled to announce that my illustrations for the Deseret News magazine have won the Award of Excellence in the Communication Arts Annual Competition!

‘The women that #Metoo left behind’ article written by Natalia Galicza sheds light on a long history of inmate abuse in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, bringing attention to the voices that were not heard before. These illustrations aimed to capture the essence of this important narrative.

In a great achievement, out of 3,639 entries submitted to the 65th annual illustration competition, only 148 were selected by a jury of respected creative professionals. I am humbled and honoured to be among the select group of illustrators, animators, design firms, agencies, publishers, and in-house creative departments recognised for their exceptional work.

Communication Arts magazine, known as a professional journal for those involved in creativity in visual communications, has showcased our illustrations as part of this exclusive competition. This recognition is a testament to the power of art to spark conversations, raise awareness, and drive change.

Me and @illustration.zone extend our heartfelt gratitude to Natalia Galicza for her impactful writing, the @deseretnews magazine for providing a platform for important stories, and @communicationarts Annual Competition for honouring our work. Together, we can continue to shine a light on important issues and advocate for those whose voices deserve to be heard. Thank you for your support and encouragement!

My illustration accompanying Grace Snell's essay for World Magazine on jails in America and the flaws in the criminal justice system. Although the average wait time in jails is 30 days, many people languish in these overcrowded spaces in appalling conditions for years without a trail.

Many thanks again to AD Rachel Beatty for trusting me with this tricky assignment.

Happy to share my cover for World Magazine's March 9th issue. The feature article does a deep dive into the flaws in America's criminal justice system and how, although, the average wait time in jails pre-trial is 30 days, many inmates end up being trapped in them for years.

Many thanks to AD Rachel Beatty for trusting me with this.
