Lemon love. Reflection. .
.
That time you were given lemons and you couldn’t stop looking at them or photographing them. .
And you got so much pleasure out of it, it was almost better than eating them. And then you juiced them and your body tingled inside. You made a lemon sauce for pasta like one is want to do remembering the time you were brought into the kitchen at the Santa Caterina in Amalfi 20+ years ago and taught how to do it. And now lemon curd that you learned from chocolatier Nathan Miller in a pot that was big enough to feed an army.
.
You will do anything to capture their magic as long as you can. Including preserving them in salt like they do in Morocco. Then it’s time to move on. Reluctantly.
Feeling grateful this morning for all the amazing food adventures over the years and the sweet people I’ve encountered that have taught me and inspired me to use my senses. (Warning: This will not be the last lemon photo)

Just received these lovely Meyer lemons sent to me from a friend’s garden in California. I opened the box and immediately made spaghetti al Limoni and listened to Neapolitan love songs. Che Bella la vita!!! .

@lindsmeow takes a break from our work day to read a few pages from The Storyteller Of Marrakech, inspired by her cozy babouche. "If there were only answers to questions there wouldn't be anything to relate. So far as a storyteller offers only answers, he offers nothing that is real. His art has life only as long as the blood of mystery circulates. That is why the intelligence of the ideal listener observes it, discovers it, but it does not seek revelation. The elements of a story are not absolutes in themselves, they are a way station, a means to an end. What end? The freedom of the story to wander and escape." #babouche #storytellingslippers #tell a-good-story #armchairtravel #mystery #cozybythefire #getlost #wanderandescape #dreamingofmarrakech #takeabreak #screenfree #bookinhand #moroccoinmarch @gowithpeggy
