What do you get when you mix a fanatical cyclist from Woerden, a bit of mountain madness, and weather that couldn’t make up its mind? 🚴‍♂️🌦️
A group that simply refuses to quit.
Rain, sun, wind…and still, they powered through like absolute legends.
Big thanks for bringing the energy, the laughs, and those unstoppable legs to Gîte Alpelune. Same time next year… ??

Refuge des Drayères, our checkpoint for the third year in a row. A welcome pause after the rough hike-a-bike and the unpaved Galibier still in the legs. Once again, the equipe at @refugedesdrayeres took care of our hungry pilgrims with a heart-warming buffet: hot soup, quiche lardon, chèvre, fresh salads, the necessary fuel in the middle of the mountains. A moment to breathe, a bite, a smile, chat and a stamp, and then the long, flowing descent through the Vallée de la Clarée to close Stage 2 of Le Pilgrimage.

The Galibier and Drayères, three years in a row, a classic in the making. Will it return next year? Maybe in a two-day stage…

Part 2 of stage 2 contains both the Col des Rochilles and the infamous hike-a-bike section all the way to the @refugedesdrayeres. This is one of the most challenging parts of @le_pilgrimage so it is good to have someone like @nilsvanderheide cheer you on all the way to the summit.

Amazing landscapes and wild gravel roads from Puy St Vincent to Piemonte and back! ⛰️✨
Massive respect to all the Pilgrims who completed the journey during the Pilgrimage event — it took us two bivouacs to make it through 😅🚵‍♀️🏕️
What an unforgettable adventure 💥
