![🔺'WHITEBOOK 01 – IT’S A CIRCLE' [PRE-ORDER] Limited Edition comes signed, with 2 photo prints and the 'Return to Sender' Postcard
Now available for Pre-order at ilovegraffiti.de/shop and hitzerot.com
New York City is the birthplace of graffiti and especially of trainwriting. Since the mid 80s writers from all over the world visit their Mecca and many of them try to achieve painting the iconic subway as their heroes did since the 1970s. With the first volume of the WHITEBOOK series by ILOVEGRAFFITI.DE titled 'IT’S A CIRCLE' has several visits to the big Apple of German writer and photographer Mark Grokenberger (@markgrokenberger) between 2019 and 2025 in focus.
The 224-paged hardcover tells the chronological story of befriended writers who first tick off their list to hit the local subway once only to find out that the city has way more to offer for ambitious train writers. With each new trip to NYC they professionalize their missions which leads to concept end-to-ends, full colour wholecars and even wholetrains. Their actions are separated into six chapters and accompanied with reflecting texts and stories on selected actions.
IT’S A CIRCLE comes as a five year covering travel journey with outstanding photographs, not only of tunnel actions, yard, traffic and drone shots, it also captures the authentic New York in amazing atmospheric street and subway station photographs. Featured names are SEKO, BQEM, YUSUF, TUKI, IRAK, EYSIR, ORG, IOC, MOPS, and more.
The first WHITEBOOK volume is available as 250 copy limited edition including two prints and a postcard (Return to Sender) and as regular edition solely consisting of the book.
Pre-order your preferred edition now at hitzerot.com and ilovegraffi.de

![🔺WHITEBOOK 01 'IT'S A CIRCLE' [ORDER]🔺
"The first book in this series is a kind of diary by the German photographer Mark Grokenberger, who is also a graffiti artist. For this project, he visited the Big Apple, the birthplace of New York Subway-inspired graffiti, ten times. This form of graffiti originated in the early 1970s and has since evolved into a vibrant, progressive, and global subculture over the past 55 years. Many graffiti artists from around the world make a pilgrimage there every year to find inspiration and to be active in the place where it all began, and to participate in something they themselves have been meticulously involved in for many years. Mark has chronicled this process in textual and photographic form, straddling the genres of diary and cultural essay. This narrative transcends the mere account of a German graffiti writer venturing into the expansive New York City underground in pursuit of historical parallels to his own longstanding pursuits."
