Always loved this portrait! From my archive: Singer Ilse Abril @ilseabril @ilseabrilart at the US-Mexico border fence in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico.
Q: How does the U.S.-Mexico border influence your life and your work as an artist ?

A: “Art transcends no matter the country. At the end of the day, we are all human and we shape, express and connect with other people through it. A feeling can never be divided by a border.

I have had the fortune and the luck of being able to sing in 3 countries with different musicians and absolutely different concepts and I can say that what I liked the most is that at the moment of the performance everyone’s having fun, they are all transparent and they just want to share a feeling by playing an instrument and it’s all about passion and talent.

Nobody cares about your nationality, gender, color or religion.”

Pueden visitar la exhibición WORK! COLOR! LIGHT! hasta el 27 de Agosto en @foundrephx ✨

Part 2 from last night. A celebration of our culture and community, these were just some of the brilliant works at the arsenal. It was a privilege to share our accomplishments with theirs. How can you not be romantic about New York City?
