Three years of transformation. A new chapter for Le Sereno.

Over the past three summers, a quiet rebirth has been taking shape in Saint-Barth.

Through the dedication and artistry of skilled craftsmen, every detail has been thoughtfully considered. From the enchanting tunnels of coconut palms, to the beautifully reimagined swimming pool, each element reflects a vision brought to life with patience, precision, and care.

A celebration of craftsmanship, nature, and the timeless spirit of Le Sereno. The true birth of the hotel.

The next chapter begins November 16.

We look forward to welcoming you back, by the shores of Grand Cul-de-sac!

Discovering the ethereal beauty of Lake Como as the night lights turn on while tucked inside @ilsereno. Nature thrives within this modern masterpiece designed by @patricia_urquiola. Add Michelin ⭐️ dining by @raffaele_lenzi_chef, a pool that feels like you’re floating in the lake itself 💦 plus a boathouse turned spa… And there’s no reason to check out.

A neoclassical terrace in full wisteria, espresso and figs on white linen, and the lake sparkling below.

The sweetness of doing nothing.

Where to stay:
• Grand Hotel Tremezzo — Art Nouveau palace with floating lake pools.
• Passalacqua — an 18th-century villa of extraordinary craft.
• Villa d'Este — Renaissance gardens and timeless service.
• Il Sereno — Patricia Urquiola's modernist lakeside sanctuary.

Save this for later.

Which room would you book?

Patricia Urquiola’s Design Vision
Urquiola’s studio was given creative control over nearly every element of the property—from the structural architecture to the custom bedroom furnishings, rugs, and bathroom fixtures.
· Honest, Local Materials: The architecture utilizes a warm, earth-toned palette that echoes the surrounding mountains. She used local Ceppo di Gré stone, fossena marble, walnut wood, and copper detailing to ground the building in its environment.
· The Floating Staircase: A major architectural hallmark is the lobby’s central staircase. Constructed of floating walnut wood treads wrapped in a cage of copper pipes, it creates a transparent focal point that allows unobstructed views of the lake right through the steps.
· Framing the Landscape: Every suite is arranged to face the water, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass doors and shifting wooden louvers on the exterior balconies to manipulate light, shade, and privacy while maintaining a constant connection to the lake.

The Agape Lariana Bathtub
Perhaps the most intimate expression of Urquiola’s concept is found in the hotel’s spacious bathrooms, which are anchored by the Lariana bathtub, custom-designed by Urquiola for the Italian premium manufacturer Agape.
· A Geographical Tribute: The name Lariana is a direct nod to Larius, the ancient Roman name for Lake Como.
· Structural Lightness: The freestanding tub features a distinctive double-shell design made from Cristalplant® biobased material. The outer shell features crisp, structured architectural lines that taper toward the base, while the interior contour is smooth, rounded, and welcoming—mimicking the natural curves of the lakeside basin.
· Material Harmony: Set against raw stone or warm wood paneling, the Lariana bathtub acts like a functional sculpture within the bathroom. In many of the suites, the tub is strategically aligned near internal partition slats or window views so that guests can look out across the lake while soaking.
The design lines up perfectly with her overall mandate for the property: items shouldn’t merely fill a room; they should visually converse with the lake outs
