It was a full week for BDP!

We premiered our new our new piece “natural/entangled/peculiar” with two performances at @chutzpahdance’s Percolating AND brought back our piece “Unprecedented Circumstances” for film

Keep an eye out for future ways to see and support both of these projects👀

When any of my adult students express their interest in going en pointe, I always have them take my pointe class on flat, along with their other ballet classes. I make it known that in order to go about this properly, there needs to not only be a certain amount of strength in the ankles and feet, but also in the core. Incorrect or weak posture is a recipe for disaster. I also stress the importance of correct foot alignment. If you’re someone who sickles, that is definitely something that needs to be addressed before even getting near a pair of pointe shoes. This whole process of making sure you can check off all these boxes can take some time. While I’ve seen some students give up or go against my recommendations, those who stay committed, trust the process, and believe in my guidance always achieve wonderful results. Lyla and Katrina, you’ve both worked incredibly hard and truly earned your pointe shoes. Congratulations! Now, the real fun begins! 😆🥰🩰
