This September, we committed to donating 100% of the proceeds generated from the sale of Shane's Case Study Outfit between September 22nd and 30th to the IM4 Media Lab. We also gave you a chance to increase the final donation through a community challenge running from September 25th to 27th.

We are happy to announce that thanks to all of you, we'll be donating CA$100K to the IM4 Media Lab in support of Indigenous artists, creators, game developers, and media professionals.

May was full of opportunities for in-person connection, and for a remote-first agency, we never take those moments for granted. ✨

Last month, team members headed to @websummit Vancouver, where sessions covered everything from Indigenous sovereignty in tech, to de-extinction and beyond. Having a world-class tech conference in our own backyard was a great opportunity to learn, connect, and get inspired.

We also took over @asuitegenius in North Vancouver for a long-overdue team photoshoot. Huge thanks to @shuttersworth for capturing new headshots and team photos that reflect the people behind the work.

And last week, a few of our creatives attended @rgdcanada DesignThinkers Vancouver, including a workshop led by @mraj, Putting the “I” Back in AI. The session explored what happens when human instinct meets machine generation, encouraging participants to use AI as a creative partner rather than a shortcut.

We’re heading into the warmer months and there's lots brewing over here at Briteweb 👀 we’re excited to share more about what's on the horizon!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Digital Ecologies: Bridging Nature and Technology and helped make our 2026 Spring Art Show at Mahon Hall such a meaningful experience.

This exhibition invited us into a way of seeing art, nature, and technology not as separate worlds, but as deeply connected ones. We’re so grateful to curator Raf Katigbak for bringing this vision to Salt Spring and for shaping a show that opened up new conversations, reflections, and possibilities.

CTRL + ALT + Create: Digital Carver Modeling Workshop completed today!

So dang cool to be in a class setting with so many Indigenous students. Truly a dream for this Rez Kid. You can see my happy face seeing them there and having the support of @IM4Labs is wonderful.

I want to see more of this. More Indigenous creatives learning more about tech and how it as a tool can help carve new paths forward.

✨Still thinking about how meaningful the first-ever Indigenous Tech Conference was.

We were honoured to support this event and to spend the day listening to Indigenous founders and leaders who are actively reshaping the tech space and redefining what’s possible. The talent, insight, and momentum in this community is real and growing.

We showed up to learn and to connect. What we walked away with was something deeper. A reminder that sometimes the most important thing to do is listen.

Huge thank you to @indigenous_tech_circle, and everyone who made this inaugural event what it was. Feeling grateful and excited for what’s next.

From November 20–29, IndieFest presented by re:Naissance Opera (@opera_reborn) returns this year with the theme of “Colliding Art Forms,” celebrating the various ways that artists and audiences find connections and community.

This edition of the festival marks the premiere of ‘Inferno: A Hip Hop Opera’ which reimagines Dante’s canonical epic poem in the modern world in which the increasing use of AI threatens the integrity of creative expression and the erasure of the artists, particularly those belonging to an IBPOC background.

Also in the spotlight is the new immersive production ‘Willilish’d’ by the musical duo As And When (@as_and_when_it_happens) which explores themes of memory, emotion, change, and motherhood with both lullabies and loop pedals as material.

‘Imagining Good Futures: Thunderbird Dreams’ is a visionary XR mural project by IM4 Lab (@im4lab) that can also be experienced by visitors throughout the festival. The mural is a project that supports Indigenous youth in imagining futures of strength, responsibility, and connection and blends AR, spatial sound, conductive paint, and projection into a living, interactive experience. The Thunderbird—symbol of transformation and renewal—guides this immersive artwork grounded in Indigenous values of care, unity, and sustainability, while also providing creative technology training and expressing powerful Indigenous futurisms.

And that’s a wrap! Signals by @follow_digibc @viffest and @im4lab was such a trip! Had the honour to speak at the IM4 Lab Day about being a project assistant for @desireaheustache ‘s and @sunflow3rguy ‘s powerful pieces, as an artist myself with the piece ‘kudiforo [backbone] to reinvigorate the Prophecies of the Eagle and the Condor in the Imagining Good Futures Mural and as the previous Operations Manager of the IM4. The opportunity to make a film for the occasion was a healing blessing from which song, visual storytelling and a reclamation of virtual spaces took place. From peoples’ wonder to the tears that came through from the pieces curated for the Imagining Good Futures Mural by the IM4 Media Lab as well from SheManShe, emotions were high! It was an honour to host the mural and see so many people come through for each of the pieces. Cheers to my co-host Akela and the many volunteers that helped out through it all! Kudos to all the artists that took part of the larger exhibit, inviting all to remember about play, and also inviting broader conversations to societal commentaries, all through state of the art technologies. Watching people’s inner child shine through in awe of the XR was the most cherished witnessing of it all! Grateful for all the thoughtful intentions put forward by the whole @im4lab team and to all the tireless efforts by the technical team to bring this all together. Ethan, Janna, Jason @thumbsupjk worked so hard to make the interactivity, the ancestors’ bubbles, the XR headsets and the console function immaculately! Big love to the @follow_digibc team, Loc, Debbie, Jess, Nico, Harsh, Rachelle, Neel, Jackie and all! To the continuation of this beautiful path of inviting community into spaces of remembrance, acknowledgement and accountability to one other and to all the wonderful new connections! Thanks to @jonnyostrem for the photos on the IM4 Lab Day and his breathtaking work alongside Davis Heslep on the SheManShe piece! 533 years of resistance to colonization today on the large continents united by a backbone of Mountains that people call the Americas: Their genocides hold nothing against the ancestral visionaries of our communities!

A quick visit to DigiBC Signals to view projects that: 1) informed me about indigenous stories/culture, 2) allowed me to experience the uncomfortable nature of surveillance systems 3)compelled me with gamified ‘guitar hero’ multiplayer large scale gaming structures 4)hypnotized me with glowing balls of self reflected ‘love’ orbits 5)drew me into comic-styled narratives 6)asked me to share my stories on retro audio machines and 7)mystified me with memories, song, archival photography and layered conversation.

I was impressed by the contextual fortitude of this collection of works and happy to meet old and new friends.

Too many favourites but I gotta offer a huge shout out to my friend @mel__lif__lu__ous (Lara) who celebrated her inaugural launch at this show. She created arduino-activated moments of memory and conversation against a backdrop of her own music! 💯
