Another successful Cyanotype workshop hosted by our very own Jaap Oldenkamp (@imageexperience) happened on September 26th. 10 eager participants - all socially distanced - were taught about the magic of cyanotype art for the very first time. Many participants shared the sentiment that it was nice to get out of their homes again, considering most lectures and classes are currently online.

They were instructed about the crucial steps of making a cyanotype print: mixing, brushing and drying. It’s quite a delicate process that requires patience and the right mixture of ingredients, resulting in a print that slowly turns blue.

“It’s not blue yet,” commented one participant while she was working her print.
“That’s true,” replied Jaap Oldenkamp as the picture slowly turned blue, “that’s the magic of cyanotype.”
