PSA: I plan on attending @imagingusa this January and would love to be connected to some modeling opportunities for vendors and photographers during the event and some select conceptual, editorial, portraiture, and maybe a boudior shoot after the event. If you have any leads or think I’d be a great fit for any demonstrations, please connect us.

I have my digitals attached and my comp card with my measurements. I appreciate all my lovely photographer and vendor friends that are willing to share/repost so I can hang out with you all and make great art while (hopefully) lowering my traveling cost to get there by offering my modeling services. 🫶❤️🥰

direction!

whether it's the direction of the model, direction of the camera, directing the poses, or directing the light - make it count!

it's always a learning process to be the director or model. there's no perfect direction or else every photograph will look the same. create your own vision and execute superbly!

must love light! ✨

As a photographer, I love natural sunlight. the sun is my element. It allows me to capture the perfect details and create such dramatic photographs.

now, flash and artificial lighting are a whole different game. it might not be my style yet. but let me know what you think

I’m excited to share that I’ll be speaking at Imaging USA in Charlotte, North Carolina! ❤️

One of the things I enjoy most about photography is being able to tell a story through an image. The way we use light, how we pose our subjects, and the decisions we make throughout a session all play a part in bringing that story to life.

At Imaging USA, I’ll be sharing my approach to storytelling through lighting and posing, and how we use both intentionally to create portraits that go beyond simply looking beautiful.

I’m looking forward to connecting with fellow photographers, sharing what I’ve learned over the years, and hopefully giving you a few things you can take back and apply to your own work.

If you’ll be at Imaging USA, I’d love to see you there! ❤️

Comment "IMAGING" for info on my Imaging USA class! I'll be shooting portraits like this and more, live on stage. You won't want to miss it!

My class at @imagingusa in Charlotte is called Lighting Athletes: Shaping Strength, Power, and Motion, and we'll be building lighting setups like this one in front of everyone.

Here's a breakdown of this vibrant gel portrait with @em_mancini_:

💡 Rim lights: 40° grids with red gels (2.5ws)
💡 Background light: a 20° grid with a blue gel at 5ws, just enough for a little halo around her shoulders
💡 Key: a diffused beauty dish with a 30° grid and a blue gel (6ws)

The grids keep every light off the @savageuniversal fashion gray backdrop, so it falls to pure black and she pops right off of it.

Shot on my lumixusa G9 at 1/250, f/4, ISO 200.

Photographers… want more setups like this? Comment "LIGHT GUIDE" for my free lighting guide.

I am humbled that @ourppa has invited me back to hold another class at @imagingusa 2027 in Charlotte, NC! Two years ago, I gave my first class, “Film Photography in the Digital Age,” where I shot a 4x5 portrait, then processed and scanned it in front of the entire class.

For 2027, it won’t be the same material. I will be bringing in my passion for motion picture and showing how to add Super 8 and 16mm to your workflow as a unique look for your clients. We will also go through the various still film formats and why film photography is still relevant in the photographic industry.

More details to come, but check out the link in my bio for the pre-con class!
