Starting tonight, Sunday, September 6, we will gather as a church from 6pm-7:30pm every night all week to seek the power and presence of God. Partnering with @247prayer and churches all over the world, we’re joining the Global Week of Prayer. Our central verse is Philippians 2:9-10, “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…”

Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on your Church!

Join us in the @imagodeipdx Prayer Space every night starting tonight: 6pm!

Amazing sketch and original art by a great leader in our church, Momena Ali!

Eugene Peterson said to “seek first” the Kingdom of God is to “Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provision.”

This Thursday, gather with college students and young adults from across the city to do just that. To steep ourselves in Gods reality together through worship, prayer, and devotion.

Come hungry for more of God. Bring a friend.

📍 B4 Church
🕡 Doors open at 6:30pm for pre-gathering prayer
🕖 Worship starts at 7pm

“In Christ…all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17). Life happens because of participation. All creation is alive by its participation in God’s Infinite and Eternal Life. From our latest teaching series, “Sacramental: A Sacramental Vision of All Reality” (Colossians 1:15-20). See our podcast and YouTube page for the full teaching. #theology #bible #teaching

🚨 New teaching series alert at @imagodeipdx 🚨 starting tomorrow, I am excited to teach through a sacramental theology (how do Christians see and define reality?). This will pour over into a theology of the sacraments: communion and baptism. But first we will need to talk about why a sunset is overwhelming and how your lungs work. This series matters because it’s a series about beauty, reality, and God’s presence. It’s about how close He really is, how generous he is in his Infinite nature to participate with finite things. It’s about guaranteed places we WILL encounter God no matter how we feel about it. It’s about the Table of the Lord set with bread and wine, and about the water of baptism and how we find him in these mysterious materials. It is also a little bit about dogs.

The poet Gerard Manley Hopkins wrote that “The world is charged with the grandeur of God.” The Psalmist cries that “heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1) and Paul says that “all things hold together” in Jesus, the Son of God (Colossians 1:17). In God, “we live, move, and have our being.” The ancient writers of Scripture took for granted that we live in what Dallas Willard has called, “a God-bathed world.” God is not “here” or “there”—nor is his kingdom, as Jesus said (Luke 17:20-21)—but rather “in all things” (Colossians 1:16-17, 20). How does this change not just how we view bread, wine, and water (the capital “S” sacraments) but also how we see all of existence? Come hang. Sundays, 9am and 11am at @imagodeipdx 1302 SE Ankeny.
