Yet, what makes your journey truly inspired is that, even in the face of absolute stardom, you never compromised your values! Despite internal and external struggles, you TRIUMPHED. Despite the pain and longing weighing on my heart, I prefer to keep my deepest feelings private, away from the noise of social media. You were always extremely guarded about your struggles, pain, and personal battles; I chose to open my heart only to those who are truly close. What you loved sharing with the world was joy—your laughter, your art, and your light—and I learned from that.
As my mother always says, social media is like paper: it accepts whatever we write on it. That is why one needs wisdom and discernment regarding what to share publicly! So, I simply want to reaffirm what I have always said and felt: I love you dearly, I infinitely admire your story, and I am eternally grateful for everything I learned by your side. There are duets that become poetry and lyrics that translate our own reality... And there are memories that awaken an inexplicable desire to go back and watch again and again. This is one of them. The way he plays, sings, and surrenders to the music is unique—there's something about him that awakens feelings that words can't always explain. In "The Best Part" (a song he adored), each verse seems even more true today. It's as if each word finds an exact place within the longing, and to top it all off, him playing and singing "Nothing Even Matters"... does he need anything more? Perhaps that's what's most beautiful about his art: he continues to awaken feelings, even in his absence. I keep going back to the performances, the songs, the details... because some memories we don't want to let go of. We want to relive them.

There's one truth that time, distance, and absence have never been able to change: I love you. Before speaking or doing anything, I always remember who you were, everything I learned from you, and especially what's important (A noble feeling doesn't need noise to be eternal, but rather to be preserved, as it always has been) and so I'm trying to live one day at a time and preserving in my heart... my greatest longing and my most beautiful memory 🙏🏽💝👑💎

For our very first Musician Spotlight, we’re highlighting ✨Imani Archer✨, daughter of legendary soul icon D’Angelo. A singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in her own right, Imani blends alternative pop, dark R&B, and soul into a sound entirely her own.

Immersed in music at an early age, Imani began playing violin and piano at age 12 and later picked up the ukulele. In our conversation, she shares how artists like Mariah Carey and The Weeknd helped shape her sound and why “studying the greats” remains such an important part of her journey.

She also reflects on the musical lessons she learned from her dad and the ways his approach to artistry has influenced her own. His willingness to trust his instincts, push creative boundaries, and resist doing what was expected of him left a lasting impression on Imani, and that same fearlessness shows up in the way she approaches both her music and personal style.
