The Silver Cherry was created on November 8th, 2024 after the release of our first chapbook, I Love You More, written by Imani Warren. Now, we have expanded immensely and need to celebrate how far we’ve come. Let’s turn 2 together at @whistlerchicago Sunday, November 8th. We will have readings from @imaniwarrenn @ingxbire & @tiarabgold, ending the night with a set from @yannaalynette to celebrate the right way! If you have ever come to an event, read at an open mic, bought a book, love what we do or want to get involved in our community, please come 🥳 Don’t miss out & mark your calendars. See you then🍒

We had a delightful time in NYC. Thanks @namelessreadingseries for hosting our first reading at @night_club_101. We filled out the space with guests and read work from upcoming pieces from TSC. We also managed to get @ingxbire’s saltwater psalms into 3 bookstores including @_bookrow @humanrelationsnyc & @thewordischange. More NYC bookstores are on the way. Thank you for welcoming us to the city with such open arms. We enjoyed every second. See you in March, New York!🍒

The Black Poetry Experience + Open Mic is a celebration and extension of Black voices, beyond Black History Month, beyond Juneteenth. Last Sunday, we began our residency at @thesilverroom which was a shiny collaboration with a fruitful outcome. @whole.hearted.hoodlum @childinmars & @imaniwarrenn took the stage as our featured readers, followed by an open mic. Come to our next open mic November 22nd at 1506 E. 53rd street to celebrate Black voices every month! Thanks for coming and see you next month 🍒 📷 @hstn__m
