Loved what @nashvillejazzpiano did reharmonizing Amazing Grace. Wanted to throw some bass on it to add to the bass note changes. Absolutely love reharm! God check the original on @nashvillejazzpiano page!

I’ll admit… this wasn’t my idea. But it absolutely blew my mind 🤯
I saw @nashvillejazzpiano reharmonize Amazing Grace by moving the bass up in 4ths every single bar while keeping the harmony idea flowing. Simple concept… HUGE sound.

So I had to try it on Oh How I Love Jesus 🎹

Right now, I can only get it to sit right in 3/4 time — and it feels especially natural on those older hymns. But I’m determined to crack the code in 4/4 and see if it can work with more modern songs too.

Sometimes one small bass movement changes everything.

What do you think — does this idea belong in modern worship, or should it stay with the classics?
