As American Idol season twenty-one comes to an end, I can finally say that I was a contestant on this season. Unfortunately, none of my footage was selected to be aired on TV, but I’m proud to have made it all the way to the show, as it was a goal of mine growing up. It was so cool getting the opportunity to perform for the judges, meet the celebrity judges, and speak with Ryan Seacrest. I had to go through several rounds of auditions and interviews just to make it to the show. Regardless of the outcome, I'm proud to say I was one of the youngest contestants in this season's lineup, being cast at seventeen years old halfway through my senior year of high school and one of a few to represent my home state of Dallas, Texas. Filming the show was a very timely process, and it consumed most of my year last year. Experiencing the world of reality TV in person was so much more different than what I had expected from watching it on TV for so long, but I couldn’t be more grateful for all of the opportunities and friendships I’ve made along the way. And as always, I had such a blast being on set, especially filming for ABC Network and Disney Television Studios. In the end, I’m thankful for all that I’ve learned through this experience, and I’m so ready and excited for much bigger things to come. Also... a little birdie told me someone has new music coming out very soon. I wonder who it could be?
