Met bro @lukoflowers_upthehill while doing Bars For The City. He walked away when I asked him to come rap. 5 mins later he turned around and did his thing. I invited him to the studio to sign up for a redeem card. He booked studio time came through and we turned it into a song. 🔥🔥🔥 “Laughed at me” -Luko Flowers

WOW, talk about finding a way to bring something that students are interested in and connecting it to their education. We all got to partner up as friends and professionals to give back to our community and educate these young scholars.
Yesterday, Speak Your Truth was able to host its first event, “Career Day” at Bruce Vento Elementary. During this event, students had the privilege to listen to five business owners who have the experiences of growing up in either the same or similar neighborhood where Bruce Vento is located. These panelists also have similar background stories, and more importantly mirror the image of our student population.
The purpose of this presentation was to highlight the endless opportunities that come after high school and that success is not defined by a four year college or university degree.
After high school comes post-secondary education. The skills and interests that drive our young learners can help them find their dream career, post-secondary education can train them for their dream career. Post secondary education can come in many different forms (i.e. books, YouTube, online courses).
I’m so thankful for everyone that was apart of this event. It was very powerful. It was beautiful to watch everyone talk about what they love to do along with inspiring and encouraging the kids that they can do it too.
