Thirty-nine has brought a bit more reflection than I anticipated. I archived a bunch of pics over the course of my various “rebrands” but now I’m sharing and bringing some of them back. Like anyone, my lifespan vs. my expectations hasn’t exactly run parallel and I can’t say that feeling of discontent won’t ever be present, humans will be just that, but it’s not important, just marginalized. Hindsight, that tricky bitch, brings another range of emotions. As I scroll through these memories, I remember the thoughts, feelings, and maybe apology texts, which drove some light laughs. It reminds me of my favorite Baldwin quote:

“It takes strength to remember, it takes another kind of strength to forget, it takes a hero to do both. People who remember court madness through pain, the pain of the perpetually recurring death of their innocence; people who forget court another kind of madness, the madness of the denial of pain and the hatred of innocence; and the world is mostly divided between madmen who remember and madmen who forget. Heroes are rare.”

I choose to be a hero.

On a scale of 1 - 10, my current mood is a 100!!! On ☁️ 9 after a love-filled weekend surrounded by my favorite people (legit sobbing tears of joy)

Grateful beyond words to @gabriella_de_vil, @wannnafantaaa and @iambinaboop for throwing me and @kocheralex an engagement party straight out of a fairytale. So much time & love went into every single detail, big and small, and I am in awe at what you guys put together for us 😭 HUGE THANK YOU to all our friends & family who came in from all across the country to celebrate our new, exciting journey to marriage, we love you so so so so much.
