Celebrating with my theatre family and the latest productions across Sydney ✨🎉— from shows of international scale at the Opera House to the vibrant world of local independent theatre 🎭✨

The past month has been filled with heartfelt moments, shared passions, beautiful memories and the joy of connecting with the people who make this profession so special. A little reminder of just how important your creative community is — the people who support you, inspire you, celebrate your successes and understand the journey behind the scenes. ❤️

So grateful for this theatre family and all the magic we continue to create together. 🎭🥂. #theatrecommunity #sydneytheatre #actingjourney #womeninthearts

Throwback to the set of The Book Club, and incredible exploration of early motherhood by @katymayhudson

This was definitely one of the most challenging yet engaging shoots I’ve been on. So many different moving parts scattered all throughout the five shooting days, all coming together into a beautiful film.

It was messy, stressy, tender and comforting all at the same time, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it.

So keen to see it on the big screen, and more films like this need to be made.

🎙👏 Artist of the Week: Imogen Sage

Imogen Sage is an actor and theatre-maker, and a graduate of the BA Acting course at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, with credits spanning Australia and the UK.

As a theatre-maker, she co-created The Last Tentacle (Tin Sheds Gallery) and Woyzeck + Marie (Hysteria Theatre). Her stage credits include Till The Stars Come Down (KXT), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Bell Shakespeare), Claudel (Sydney Opera House), and Hay Fever (Melbourne Theatre Company), alongside UK credits such as Rebecca (Kneehigh Theatre) and Measure for Measure (Shakespeare's Globe).

On screen, Imogen made her feature debut as the lead in Dark Noise, with further credits including The Man Who Knew Infinity and Neighbours. This year, she undertook NORPA's Makers Residency to develop a new work about family secrets and inheritance. 🎬✨

We asked Imogen: if your creative practice were a meal, what would it be and why?
"A roast chicken. Stuff it with goodness, don't overdo it, let it bake, and see how it turns out." 🍗

💛 Love stories like this? Follow us for more Artist of the Week features, and hit like if Imogen's roast chicken wisdom resonated with you!

My mum is turning 90
Some of the family came together from near and far to celebrate.
Her long-time friend, Colleen, who Mum travelled to London with on a ship when they were in their 20’s, and my Aunty Colette and Uncle Colin from Victoria
where there.

Mum has dementia and cancer, but it’s the dementia that’s the tough one for Mum.
She told me she is lonely. It must be so incredibly difficult to forget almost everything.
I also think she is somewhat nonplussed about turning 90. But she did give a speech and say thank you.
My beautiful Mum.

Look how patient my brother Rob is, reading all her cards to her. I’m so grateful for him and his wife, my sister in law Nic, who take so much care of her.

My brother also made a delicious, boozy fruit cake and Nic elegantly decorated it with sugar-laden royal icing and pretty flowers in Mum’s favourite colour, blue.
