Happy Ganesh Utsav to everyone. In classical music Ganesha is the first deity we offer our reverence and devotion to. Ganesha is also the lord of the mooladhara/root chakra which is the first energy center.

This is a small ode to him on this auspicious day ❤️❤️❤️

To listen carefully.
To hold space honestly.
To bring voices together when they carry something worth saying.
To protect expression in whatever small way I can.

I don’t know where this road will take me.

But I know I feel deeply grateful to be walking it.

For the music.
For the artists.
For this country.
For the freedom to still find a way to sing.

An unexpected slot opened up at the IMP-X : Battle of Bands, and I was asked if I'd be interested in filling in. 🤸🏾‍♀️

I thought, "I don't have a lot of originals, what am I even going to do?! And even if I could do it, where's the time to practice. I also have my brunch gig the same day, what if I'm too tired?! AAAHHH! " 😵‍💫

But I took it one step at a time. Practiced with @beatswithalok & @mostlyvish at a cafe, creating quick arrangements. 🥳

I even prepared a script to speak on stage, during my break, while singing at Trident. Then rushed to @ext.hyd , with an extra outfit packed. 😮‍💨

@imp_social was busy attending to the participants, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't fucking nervous, though I pretended like I was the coolest person ever. 😎

Yet, something changed. Right before us, the band that played (I forgot their name), gave me the ultimate goosebumps. The groove made me headbang, involuntarily. 🤘🏾

I rode that adrenaline rush, as a performed in front of the amazing audience and the judges : @peekayindia & @baidurjyabanerjee. 🔥

It was the first time I performed my songs to an audience that was fully focused on me. Mind you, I almost cried! 🥹

Getting to share my story and watching people cheer me on, was a privilege. I would have never experienced this if I listened to my fear. And guess what? Until the last second, I did it scared. And I'm glad I did. 🥺🙂‍↕️

Now, as I remember this, I want to write more songs. Till then, I'll keep goin.

Stay Curious. 💜
