POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

💃🏻 The stylist. 🖤 The salon. 🥗 The fuel. ❤️ The product. 🔥 The hair.

😂 Because apparently just doing badass hair isn’t enough anymore. We gotta document the whole damn process.

🙃 Being an entrepreneur in 2026 is wild. I’m just trying to do hair, run a business, and keep my sanity while simultaneously being a content creator, photographer, videographer, editor, and social media manager.

🫠 I’m burnt the fuck out from social media, but here I am… making another Reel for the algorithm.

🍁 Anyway… blonde to red for fall? Say less. 🔥

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 “𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.”

Because we know you have bills. Groceries are expensive as hell. Life is life-ing. And there are a million things competing for a spot in your budget.

So when you intentionally make room for Salon, we notice.

When you prebook your next appointment. When you buy your products from us instead of somewhere online. When you send your friend, coworker, partner, or family member our way. When you share our posts, leave a review, or simply keep coming back.

You’re not just paying for your hair.

You’re helping us pay our team. Keep educating ourselves. Support other small businesses. Show up for our community.

Keep the lights on. And continue creating a space where people can walk through the door and feel like they belong. 🌈 🏳️‍⚧️🫶🏻🫶🏼🫶🏽🫶🏾🫶🏿

We know professional hair is an investment, and we never take it lightly when you decide we’re worth investing in.

To every client and every person in our community who has made room for Salon in their budget…

Thank you. Truly. 🖤

We wouldn’t get to do what we love without you.

𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆. 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳.

I wanted to know if I could make myself a promise and actually keep it.

When I started doing 100 squats a day, I could barely do 5 at a time without getting winded. 😂 So I’d do 5 after I peed, 5 after brushing my teeth, 10 while waiting for something… whatever it took.

Then one day I realized I could do 50.

That might not sound like some huge accomplishment, but to me it was proof that all those tiny-ass choices were adding up.

And THAT became the point.

Not weight loss. Not a perfect diet. Not becoming some fitness girly overnight. 😂

Just showing myself what happens when I consistently show up.

And I did.

I made it 28 days before my knee gave out two days before the end of September.

Was I technically two days short of completing the physical challenge? Yep.

But I showed up every single damn day that I could.

And weirdly, those last two days taught me just as much as the first 28.

Old me might’ve looked at that injury and thought, Well, I didn’t finish. I failed.

This time, I don’t see it that way.

I learned. I adjusted. I rested when my body told me I needed to rest.

And I’m taking that lesson into October:

Consistency doesn’t require perfection.

Apparently sharing this journey resonated because 27 of y’all said you wanted to do an October challenge with me. 🥹

So let’s fucking do it.

But don’t do MY challenge.

Figure out what promise YOU need to make to yourself.

Big or small. Physical, mental, emotional, financial, creative—whatever would make your life a little better if you consistently showed up for it.

Tag me, DM me your ✅, grab a friend, keep it completely private, or join our October accountability group.

If you want to be added to the group, DM me and specifically tell me you want in. 🖤

I’m not throwing y’all into a group chat without permission. 😂

No competition. No perfection.

Just 31 days of keeping our word to ourselves.

5…4…3…2…1…

Let’s fucking go. 🍂

☀️ 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 🟰

😴 Rest
❤️‍🩹 Recovery
🏔️🧘🏻‍♀️ Nature / Grounding
🏊🏽‍♀️ Swimming
🖤 Family
🫂 Relationships
🎶 Musical Medicine
🪶 Culture
📚 Education

📵 I haven’t posted since July… and honestly, that might be one of my favorite parts of this summer.

I went into my time off thinking I’d recover from surgery AND finally have all this time to work on my coaching program.

🤣 Cute.

Instead, I did something I realized I haven’t really done since I was 11 years old…

I just lived.

No constant productivity. No pressure to create. No feeling like I needed to turn every quiet moment into an opportunity to accomplish something.

❤️‍🩹 I rested. I healed. I learned. I swam. I spent time outside. I danced. I connected deeper with my culture, my family, my relationships and myself.

And meanwhile…the Salon kept going. 🥹

My business is heading into its 18th year, and I don’t think younger Dre could’ve imagined being able to step away like this.

But this freedom didn’t happen accidentally.

I spent YEARS making mistakes, learning what didn’t work, building systems, automating, delegating and creating a team I could trust.

Compared to previous maternity leaves and times I’ve had to step away, this experience showed me just how much we’ve grown.

And it also showed me where the holes still are. 👀 Retail needs some love. Social media basically went on summer vacation with my ass. 😂 And that’s okay.

Because one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that a healthy business shouldn’t completely depend on its owner being physically present or constantly posting online to survive.

🖤 We have relationships. We have community. We have systems. And I have an incredible team who held shit DOWN while I found pieces of myself again.

Maybe that’s my biggest lesson from Summer 2026:

Success isn’t always being booked, busy and visible.

Sometimes success is creating enough freedom to actually enjoy the life you worked so damn hard to build. 🪶

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼.

As many of you know, Dre is having her hysterectomy today. She gave me permission to share this because she has always believed in being open about the hard things, especially if it helps someone else feel less alone.

Dre has been dealing with severe pain from adenomyosis for a long time, and after years of continuing to show up for her family, clients, team, and community while quietly carrying that pain, this surgery is something she truly feels at peace with. This is not a sad moment for her, it is a step toward healing and relief.

If you know Dre, then you know how much she gives to everyone around her. Between caring for four kids at home, running a small business alongside Gilbert, supporting our team, and always showing up for others, rest does not come naturally to her.

Because small business owners do not receive paid time off, we wanted to find a way to help support Dre and her family during her recovery. We have created a meal train with opportunities to bring meals or donate toward groceries and meal delivery services while she heals.

For anyone who would like to help, we have added the meal train link to the salon bio. Meals can also be dropped off at the salon for either myself or Dre’s mom to bring directly to her.

For Dre’s clients, she will be out of the salon for six weeks. Her first day back is scheduled for 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟳𝘁𝗵, which is already fully booked, and she is currently booking into the week of 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵.

Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated, signed up, shared the link, or reached out with support. It truly means so much to her, her family, and all of us.
