🇺🇸 July 4, 2026 🥇

That same day, USA Wheelchair Handball won gold at the 2026 @eurohand4all, defeating Team Spain in Lyon, France as part of our preparation for the 4th @ihfworldhandball Wheelchair Handball World Championship.

What followed interrupted our program, but it did not erase what had been built.

That result remains part of the foundation, and we build from here.

This dude has takes loves his family, keeps up his academics (degree loading), and shows integrity even when choosing vanity could have provided empty happiness.

He makes me smile…..just a lil….okay….I’m cheesing super hard RIGHT now!!!

To The Real @usa_wheelchair_handball,

When I was a Board Director for the US Handball National Governing Body I conceived the initiative for what would ultimately become your national team program and I asked my former Beach National Teammate Dr. Ford Dyke, whom I met whilst in residency at Auburn, Alabama, to take the helm of the program. With minimal initial structural support from myself, @m_branick , and @mattcollins3636, Coach Ford exceeded any realistic expectations and brought home three international medals in three years.

Today September 16th you were supposed to start competing to top your 2024 silver medal performance at the @ihfworldhandball championships in Granollers, Spain. I know firsthand what it’s like to miss out on a world tournament already qualified for as it happened to me with the 2023 ANOC World Beach Games that my national team had qualified for the previous year by virtue of being top of @nachc_handball in 2022. However, I am not recording this message to console you, I am here to congratulate you. There is not a US handball national team, including the championship teams I was a part of, that I am more proud of than your team.

Thank you @usa_wheelchair_handball for your example of integrity and resolve in spite of hostile opposition. Thank you for restoring some of my faith in humanity and doing so as a United front with in respect to yourselves and the head of your program. You all witnessed injustice and didn’t once entertain it, sticking by the side of your peers and higher principle. You have done what many in the American handball community have been too “Stockholm Syndromed” to do over the past two years and that is defying the morally incorrigible influences that have infected the community.

@usa_wheelchair_handball is the winningest delegation at world level in American handball history and I hope how much built and accomplished in spite of the current administration is put into perspective. Thank you for who you all are as athletes, as Americans, and as human beings. I trust you will all keep rolling on to grander pastures and that the best is yet to come. I Gabriel Denbraber stand with Ford Dyke and the WHOLE team USA wheelchair handball staff. The actions and processes that have taken place is wrong and saddens me.

Ford Dyke and the whole coaching staff is the reason why we are where we are today. We (USA) have won 3 medals in all 3 tournaments we have gone to. This is because of the people that are coaches are. They invest time, money, and energy into the program and athletes. They each have single handily in the short 9 months I have played this sport changed who I am as a person and athletes. Which is for the better.

Being a disabled athlete comes with triumph and Barriers. I have faced that my whole life. But WE (USA) will not be silent during this time. Our voices will be heard. Disabled athletes should be empowered, embraced, and given every opportunity just like anyone else. These actions continue to show we have to fight everyday to be included. I will never stop fighting for what is right and for advocacy for all disabled athletes. This sport has brought me life long friends, confidence, and family.

I understand the power of social media and what it can do. As many of you know I don’t ask for much. I ask you to please stand with me and my team as we move to reinstate our coaching staff immediately. A share a like a comment goes a long way.
