Thank you to those who joined us for the book launch of Sailing Oman: A Yachting Guide. ⛵️🇴🇲

Saililng Oman is the first cruising guide to Oman’s stunning coastline and one of the world’s last largely unexplored cruising grounds. This authoritative pilot opens a coastline long shaped by trade, exploration and seafaring, yet still little-visited by today’s yachting community.

We heard from authors Reem Askalan and Jaoudat Kazoun on their journey writing Sailing Oman, which offers practical and reliable information for mariners navigating the Sultanate’s waters, while also serving as an engaging resource for travelers, historians and anyone with an interest in Oman’s rich maritime heritage, coastal landscapes and seafaring traditions.

Thank you to publishers Imray, and the Royal Thames Yacht Club for their collaboration on this event. 🌊

An absolute pleasure to be signing books at Southampton Boat Show alongside boating royalty, esteemed author and all-round lovely chap Tom Cunliffe!

I’ve enjoyed Tom‘s book the Shell Channel Pilot enormously, cruising the South Coast of England and the Isles of Scilly, and it was a large part of the inspiration to write Solent Harbours.

A great day at @sotonboatshow with @bookharbour chatting to people about my new book!

Met some lovely folk and talked boats, hidden harbours and anecdotes afloat.

Solent Harbours will be available at the @bookharbour stand H110 in New Wave Hall at the @sotonboatshow starting this weekend! The author, Tim Stickley, will be on the stand this Saturday too; if you stray too close, he is likely to sign any copies of Solent Harbours you happen to be holding 🖊️📘

Even if you don’t want your copy of Solent Harbours signed with nautical best wishes from the author, come by for a chat, especially if you like sharing good boating stories!

This made my day…

“A superb and very up-to-date guide to Solent harbours… We have already made good use of the information on recent trips.”

Reading comments like this reminds me exactly why I wrote Solent Harbours - to help people enjoy exploring this amazing coastline with confidence.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s supported the book so far. Your feedback means more than you know.

If the guide has helped you discover a new harbour, find a great anchorage, or has simply made passage planning easier, I’d love to hear what you think in an Amazon review.

Sailing amongst islands involves often complex considerations of wind, tide and topography. However sophisticated your navigation setup, you'll always need local knowledge. This is called Pilotage, and this wealth of experience is compiled into Pilot Books

We carry a full set of pilot books published by @imraynautical to refer to when we need to know information about local anchorages, tidal currents, or shelter in certain conditions.

Imray have updated three key volumes for the west coast of Scotland, Kintyre to Ardnamurchan, Ardnamurchan to Cape Wrath, and the Outer Hebrides with the latest navigational knowledge.

Recognise where we are in this one?

Ever been to Langstone Harbour? Discover the hidden gem of the Solent.

Solent Harbours (published by @imraynautical) enables easier exploration of new places, including the gloriously quiet and secluded Langstone Harbour. Thanks to @langstoneharbour authority, the harbour remains beautifully unspoilt and a truly gorgeous place to visit.

Pick up a copy of Solent Harbours, by Tim Stickley, on Amazon, or follow the link in our bio.
