✨Happy Monday!✨

I thought I would kick off the week by shouting about some of my favorite books and authors! I love dark romantasy, thrillers, and horror and pretty much anything weird and unhinged. You’ve already seen most of these but I can’t hype them up enough!

Do we share any favorites?

🕯️I HAVE YOUR NEXT FALL SERIES 🕯️

I just finished “Ink Becomes Blood” - the second in the Death’s Legacy series by @inaharringtonauthor !!! These are literally so perfect for fall/halloween 👻 it’s got dark/witchy academia vibes with found family, LGBTQ+ rep, and coming of age storylines. There’s a secret society & a whole lot of old money privilege 🤫

follow @rattlethestarspr and @inaharringtonauthor for updates on the series 🤭

🥀Review Time🥀

Ina does it again- she blends dark academia, murder mystery, and paranormal so seamlessly that you get lost in the world.

There seem to be multiple different plots and pieces happening simultaneously, but rather than feeling chaotic it just draws you in further. Book two brings us more specters/ghosts and introduces wolfskins and secret societies, while slowly unveiling more and more of the magical political unrest. And please don’t get me started on what’s going on with Val’s mystery employer and the Walker’s complete lack of known history.

All I know is I need book 3 immediately, because I need some answers here- and Dawnn needs moment to shine!

Be sure to follow @rattlethestarspr and @inaharringtonauthor for upcoming announcements and promotions.

✍🏻 Review Corner | Ink Becomes Blood 🖤✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I wasn’t normal, and, for once, it felt fucking amazing”

The second book in the Death’s Legacy series by @inaharringtonauthor dives even deeper into Rose finding herself, the dark underbelly of Bancroft University, reveals even more of the dark creatures lurking in the shadows & a few murder mysteries to go along with it 👀😮‍💨

“Curiosity is a mage’s greatest virtue”

We have a secret society, an urban fantasy, what I suspect will be a love triangle lurking in the background, blood magic, paranormal murder mystery, and can someone PLEASE give me a match to speed up this slow burn before I tear my hair out?? 🤭

“The true Val on display. I just needed the key to decrypt it”

Oh and the side character found family doesn’t hurt either 🥹

“In sanguine, scientia; in scientia, imperium”

🛍️ Books 1 and 2, Death Becomes her & Ink Becomes Blood, in this Death Legacy series are available now on KU/Amazon & more! Or through Ina’s website, Inaharrington.com 🛍️

More information is available from @inaharringtonauthor @rattlethestarspr , thank you for the ARC lovelies I thoroughly enjoyed 💜🥵

🧙‍♀️ARC REVIEW🧙‍♀️

This was everything that I enjoyed about Death Becomes Her, with a more in depth explanation of the magical abilities and characters. The dark, eerie atmosphere makes this a perfect fall/spooky season read! I'm hoping for a book three that continues the indepth character development and world building.

How is it October already?!
September was such a great reading month but my TBR is in the wind! I may have overextended on ARCs, but it is hard to complain when they have been some of the best reads!

I completed an all-time favorite duology and started a new favorite series this month!
I finally read AND then saw Verity (rambling thoughts to come!)

There are so many new releases I still haven’t gotten to but I am SO EXCITED for Vasmora to be releasing this month! I am also going to see @gretchenwritesbooks in Milwaukee to celebrate the release of the final book in The Shattered Crown Trilogy! I have been putting off Splintered Kingdom because I have heard there’s a devastating cliffhanger but I think it’s almost time!

I am obviously excited for A Court of Splintered Harmony, but I am literally sticking my head in the sand now when it comes to these Bloomsbury quotes!

I think October is going to be another GREAT month! What are you most looking forward to?

September was basically: weird, unsettling, speculative, & magical… and I loved it 😂📚

8 books this month = 85/75 for 2026, and still TBR is growing.

Which category would you be picking first? 👀

Ink Becomes Blood, the second installment of the “Death’s Legacy” urban fantasy series, is available NOW! I am having way too much fun trying to put mood boards together but I loved the dark but cozy vibes of this book! Thank you SO much @inaharringtonauthor and @rattlethestarspr for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This was everything I enjoyed in Death Becomes Her, with a deeper exploration of the magic system, the world, and the characters. The dark, haunted atmosphere makes this a great spooky-season read, balanced really well with found family and charming banter!

Rose is growing into her powers, her relationships, and the world of mages, and I really enjoyed her character growth in this book. It is not an easy journey, but I loved seeing her strike out on her own while still having her friends to lean on. This wrapped up another gripping murder mystery and set up what I anticipate will be an even deeper exploration of the world and history of mages! Such a fun read!
