Happy heavenly birthday to my beautiful wife, Ina.

Hawaiʻi held such a special place in her heart. She loved the ocean, the beaches, the sunshine, and the feeling of being here. We both believed Hawaiʻi was a place of healing, and we shared a deep belief in the Aloha Spirit. We were serious about giving life on Oʻahu a chance and making this island our home.

Today, I’m driving around Oʻahu and visiting some of her favorite beaches in celebration of her birthday. A day spent in the places she loved feels like the right way to honor her and remember just how much Hawaiʻi meant to her.

If you can, put on some Depeche Mode or ABBA, raise a glass, and give a birthday cheer and a smile to this beautiful, amazing soul.

Today we celebrated the amazing life of my wife, Ina...

My beautiful Ina 💙💛

There are no words big enough to hold what you meant to me, but I will try. Ina was an extraordinary person — kind, warm, radiant, and deeply loving to everyone who knew her. She moved through the world with grace, strength, and an open heart that made people feel seen, safe, and cared for.

She was also a true Viking — brave enough to leave Stockholm, Sweden and move to the United States on her own, following her heart and her sense of adventure. That courage, independence, and spirit were part of what made her so special.

We were blessed with 20 incredible years together — years filled with love, laughter, adventure, and an unbreakable bond. She wasn’t just my wife, she was my best friend, my partner in life, and my everything.

I miss her more than I can express, but I am endlessly grateful that I got to share my life with her. Loving her was the greatest gift of my life, and she will remain in my heart forever.

She is smiling down on all of us from Valhalla.
