Bringing McNab Lane to life. 🎨

A 75-metre laneway at Indi Footscray has been transformed into a striking piece of public art - six artists, one collective work, centred on cohesion, inclusion and community.

We were proud to help @juddyroller bring this vision to life, supplying five 26ft electric scissor lifts on site to give the artists safe and reliable access to every corner of this large-scale mural.

Delivered by @indi.living and @investapropertygroup, curated by @juddyroller - with incredible work from @brolga, @minnaleunig, @_lynnbremner, @millo, @seth_globepainter, and the late Tommy Day III @jirri_jirri.

Here’s a story about finding community in one of Sydney’s busiest streets.

INDI Sydney is the first of its kind, a new concept in commercial and metro living, a purpose-build to rent development right in the heart of Sydney CBD. When the Building Management reached out about my perfume class, I admit, I did not have a full grasp of what the event would be for.

But, the moment I stepped into the building, I got it. Residents are mostly students and young professionals. People from all parts of the world. Many of them recently moved to Sydney and still finding their feet.

As I was running the perfume class which I designed specially for the residents, I couldn’t stop smiling. People with different accents (just like me) sharing stories about their home countries and loved ones they left behind, as they start a new life in Australia.

One of them shares how the french lavender reminded her of her mum. And one says the scent of roses transport her back to their garden. Many already recognise the tenaciously herbacious and earthy allure of eucalyptus.

How beautiful to hear stories sprouted through scents - those which are familiar, comforting and familiar.

How beautiful to see people coming together through an experience where every moment is unique and yet, shared.

Something big is coming to Footscray in May.

4 of Australia's greatest mural artists and 2 international heavyweights, are joining forces for a new large-scale public art project in the heart of Melbourne’s west.

Just moments from the station, Indi Footscray is setting a new benchmark for Build to Rent living, with culture built into the experience from day one.

Stay tuned for updates as this laneway gets transformed into a permanent, outdoor art gallery, showing off the best of the west.

Commercial campaign for @indi.living — I love my job hnngghh !!

You know what the trippiest thing is; I literally watched this building get build over the past 3 years as I live down the street and saw it go through the whole construction process…

Who knew that years later, I’d get to model for them!?? Like honestly, you never know what comes around in this job — I’m still pinching myself, cause I get to be involved in a shoot that’s in such close proximity to home, not just physically but also a moment to myself where I stop and think “omg did I manifest this”

My world is so small, thank you all for making this happen, I’m so grateful <33

The architectural design of Indi Southbank responds directly to its surrounding urban environment. Grounded by an active podium and colonnade, the architecture engages Kings Way and the adjoining park through scale, materiality and a playful façade of staggered balconies.

The building deliberately turns away from the intensity of Kings Way, orienting its primary entrance and civic presence toward the adjoining park, now gifted with a social community of residents occupying this 42-storey building.
