The magic of this place is the way it brings the right people together.

Somos is a contemporary refuge for the global adventure seekers, creatives, builders, and adventurers alike. It is a place that allows for infinite exploration, an outpost built to foster a sense of freedom through our offerings.

Everyone has a story to tell: this is the place to spark conversation and create lifelong bonds.

The goal is life; ride bumps, get bruises, strike laughter. Reconnect with what was thought to be lost. Foster new relationships. Nourish yourself. Dance a little. Be happy.

Safe to say we fell in love with boat life.

Our time with @thisisdrifttheory was for the books. Waking up with the sun, learning how to sail, and finding new waves around every corner. I think we all still wish we where there.

The best adventures aren't the ones you plan.

There the ones that start with an idea, and fall into place after you start moving. There the ones that come last minute, where you hope your boss understands, and hopefully someone can feed your cat.

We know, because joining @thisisdrifttheory on their boat was just that. Last minute, poorly planned, almost didn't happen. It didn't make sense on paper, but it just felt right.

This is was what our first day on the boat looked like, and it was easy to see that we made the right move.

Maybe you're trying to decide if you should get on the boat. A new job. A new adventure. A trip you've been talking yourself out of for months. Maybe it's finally coming to visit us.
Whatever it is, you're probably waiting for the right moment.

Stop waiting for perfect. Get on the damn boat.

Get on the Damn Boat was never really about the boat.

It was about saying yes to something that made very little sense on paper, and then realizing that was exactly why it worked.

For you, it might be something else.

A trip, a new idea, a place you keep thinking about, a leap into the unknown.

Stop waiting for the perfect plan. Take the leap.
Get on the damn boat.

Good stories don’t come from things going to plan.

We had enough stories already, so we kept moving. Pointed the boat at empty waves the next morning, jumped off, and got what we’d been chasing all trip.
After scoring, we slowed it down. Just enjoyed being out there.

One more sunset on the water. Tomorrow we head back to Somos.

GET ON THE DAMN BOAT // EPISODE 05

Finding new waves is one thing. Actually scoring them is when the work pays off.

Searching from a boat changes everything. No landmarks. No easy reads. Just half guessing, half trusting your gut.

That’s the point of these trips though. Getting out there. Chasing something unknown and figuring it out along the way.

Luckily, with a good captain and good surfers, we found what we were looking for.

But it’s never only about the waves. It’s the boat rides, beers in the cooler, sunburns, new coastlines, and the stories shared on deck that make it all worth it.

Exploration still wins.
