Meet our first Live Like Braun Scholarship recipient - Jackson!

@jjmata1313 stole our hearts from the moment we met him. With courage and confidence, he reached out and made an immediate connection. No hesitation, just an open heart and a genuine desire to be known.

As we learned more about Jackson, we discovered his incredible passion, commitment, and determination to become a pilot. But his dreams extend far beyond the cockpit. Jackson is deeply committed to becoming the best version of himself while lifting up the people around him.

He is thoughtful, intentional, brave, and full of promise. Exactly the kind of young person who will go out into the world, make it better, and carry Braun’s legacy.

Congratulations, Jackson! We are so proud to welcome you into the Live Like Braun family! We can’t wait to be passengers on one of your flights someday. The sky is truly not the limit for you.

“What is the cost of doing nothing at all?”

For us, the answer was simple: too much.

After losing Braun to a repeat alleged drunk driver, we felt an undeniable pull to connect with young people, to reach them before one decision results in a lifetime of consequences.

That is how our one-hour DUI awareness workshop was born.

We bring this workshop to students at every stage—from elementary school through high school. We talk honestly about choices, impaired driving, responsibility, courage, and the reality that the decisions you make don’t just affect you; they ripple outward to your friends, family, classmates, and entire community.

There is incredible power in reaching young people before the worst happens.

We love walking into these schools. We love sharing who Braun was, how he lived, and how deeply he loved life. And we love watching students listen, question, absorb, and leave the room seeing their own choices a little differently.

Because if we reach one student at every school, one person who decides not to get in the car, takes the keys, calls for a ride, or speaks up for a friend, then we have done something that matters.

One hour can change a decision.

One decision can change a life.

And one life saved is everything.

This is one hour we believe every school needs.

We can’t wait to visit yours!

It makes perfect sense that @joolapickleball and @agassi would partner with Live Like Braun to create a limited-edition Agassi Edge Live Like Braun pickleball paddle.

Braun loved everything this game represents: fun, friendship, laughter, competition, and bringing people together.

Pickleball was Braun’s kind of sport — welcoming, a little goofy, full of energy, and best played with people you love. Preferably while wearing crazy shorts, and maybe needing to be talked out of the flip-flops.

For Braun, pickleball was never about winning. It was about making everyone feel included, keeping the game fun, and reminding us that the best moments happen when you show up exactly as yourself.

A heartfelt thank you to @joolapickleball and Andre Agassi for helping us honor Braun’s spirit in such a meaningful and joyful way.

Available at the link in our bio and on our site.

Met at a house party through friends of friends. We played early Jackson Tree festivals, they played the first-ever Friends of Friends of Friends. We were honored to send off Jackson Tree one last time.
