Over the past 6 years we have seen how Nuwu Art Collective has evolved into what it will become soon @indigenousaf.shop

As non profits are under attack the art collective is seeing ways of making up for the lack of funding by creating a shop to showcase many of the artist they have worked with in the past.

Will you be attending their grand opening again? From gallery to shop congratulations!

Grief is experienced in many ways and recent events that have brought communities together in grief has been an element that has touched and changed the people of Las Vegas, as well as people across the country. The humanities have long had a role in how we document, commemorate, remember, heal, and grow beyond our grief. “Margaret, Are You Grieving“ continues the conversation of dealing with grief and how each of us may find a way forward. You can see “Margaret, Are You Grieving” at the Nevada Humanities Program Gallery in Las Vegas through March 25, 2020. It was such a beautiful and bittersweet event last night at Nevada Humanities for "Margaret, Are You Grieving?" curated by @ambrommel
This tender and thoughtful show brought together poets and artists interpreting grief in its many forms. As I shared the experience behind my piece, "Requiem," created right after Theresa's untimely death, I realized that though I love and appreciate its beauty, it is the only painting I've ever created that I will forever wish I hadn't needed to. My expression says it all. ○□○□○□○□○□○
About my studio practice: Painting feels so much like composing music to me. I know that artists have many ways they approach new work. My method is very organic and tuned into my daily state of being. While I almost always incorporate the same elements, they may appear in different order in their layering, in different mediums, sizes, or palettes. As a lifelong musician, my sense of vibration is always an important part of the process, and this very much includes the expression of my emotional, intellectual, physical, and/or spiritual vibrations. Each work is lovingly and authentically autobiographical and filled with the language and vibrations of me.
