This Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 5 PM, concertnova brings Grammy-nominated @sandbox_percussion, @violininkristin, and Cincinnati’s Heavy Metal Marching Band (@calcagno.cullen) to @uc_ccm for CINCINNATI SANDBOX.

This looks back at our instrument-making workshop with @indigohippo as part of the CINCINNATI SANDBOX project leading up to the concert, where discarded materials became new sources of sound.

Tickets for Sunday’s concert are available at the link in our bio or at https://www.concertnova.com/concerts-events/cincinnati-sandbox-s20

ANNOUNCING SEASON 20!

It’s finally here! concertnova’s twentieth season of concerts doesn’t look back. For two decades, the organization has experimented with putting classical music where it isn’t expected, next to something it isn’t supposed to touch. This season is the latest round — five new programs and three additional events, from a sculpture-garden concert to a bluegrass gala to a minimalism festival. The instinct hasn’t changed: surprise opens people up, and what they let in from there is what transforms them.

noon-6:00 pm | Felicity, OH
life-size sculptures + music in a forest
w/ Molly Barth (flute), Allen Otte (percussion) and more

“More and more, I’m realizing that we hold stories. People bring us an entire carload of their parents’ art supplies, and they say, ‘My mom was a painter for years and years.’ We get to literally hold space for these stories and materials, and then the right person comes along and is able to continue that story and continue the life of the material.”

Earlier this summer, we met with Emily Dake, executive director and co-founder of @indigohippo, to chat about running a nonprofit and what inspires her.

“We hit 10 years. That feels amazing for a nonprofit whose model is ‘pay-what-you-can’ art supplies. It started with this dream and hope that this is indeed what our community could benefit from and would want.”
