Putting a choreo together while shadowing pole classes, creating/learning my own warm-up plan, and preparing my first pole taster was definitely not ideal.

There are so many mistakes in this routine that I held off from posting this video for a bit.

At the beginning I don't seem to be able to open a book, the whole part off the pole looks sloppy and I look like someone that didn't have enough food ( which, in fact, I didn't 😂 ) and in the final bit you can see me trying to get in a move in a complete wrong way, dismount and try again!

But god...I had FUN! I came up with a few bits of the choreo on the spot, in a spontaneous way, and it felt rather liberating to allow myself to be a little bit unpolished and a little rough around the edges.

Sharing this imperfect routine is important for me also to honour the message I wanted to deliver impersonating the woman reading the 'how to be a good wife' book. My intention was to strip her off from the stereotypes, the etiquette and the rules and simply let her loose, freeing her from the expectation of being perfect, and express her primal self.

P.S. The Archies and the Elvis song both came out in 1969, hence why the name of the routine. Given the fact that those were times where women's rights activists were galvanising conversation on women identity besides their roles of wives and mothers, and above all they were fighting to obtain significant changes in society domestic/marital structure, I thought of this choreo as a tribute and reminder of those achievements.

I think one of the many things I’ve missed about not photographing weddings is summed up in this picture of Laura and her besties @firleplace - the joy, fun and love that friendships brings.

After lots of plan & date changes Laura & Chris finally got to say I do surrounded by their nearest & dearest at the gorgeous @firleplace ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Funny how things work out. On their original wedding date it was torrential rain and gales. As they say good things come to those who wait, the sun was shining the whole day and it was one of the most delicious golden hours I’ve seen, more on that later…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
