Designers often refer to lighting as the “jewelry” of a room, and it makes sense: The right fixture adds just a bit of sparkle and can be the perfect finishing touch. Throughout this year’s Real Simple Home, designers chose sculptural fixtures that almost double as works of art, adding visual interest even when the lights are turned off. Swipe for a few of our favorite examples.

Always in her corner… because she is always in mine.

At this stage of life, I have a new appreciation for the friends who show up without having to ask. Who bring the fun when you’re not sure you’re ready. Who have a shoulder when you don’t even know you need one. The ones who push you when you need pushing because they see what you can’t when you’re stuck deep in your own head, standing in your own way.

And I’m taking notes, learning to be one of those friends myself, learning from one of the best @indigopruitt ✨

Sometimes, finding your way back to yourself looks like doing the very thing you didn’t want to be known for — photography. 🫣

The Photo Opp has been so much more than a photography experience for me. It’s been a journey of rediscovery, rebuilding my creative confidence, and remembering that the gifts we have don’t disappear just because life takes us in a different direction.

To everyone who has trusted me to capture them, THANK YOU. You’ve played a bigger role in this chapter than you know. 💚

Here’s to creating, rediscovering, and giving ourselves permission to begin again. ✨

I have a few more Photo Opp sessions available through the end of October, and I’d love to have you in front of my lens. DM me if you’re interested!
