You’ll see Shayla model as well as support the “Women & Nature” exhibition- and the fabric on the handloom, which is #handwoven in GOTS Certified #organiccotton - we start much earlier than out sized fashion - slow fashion is about promoting traditional craft skills, pay fair wages, and support welfare and development programs. We hope you’re doing well amidst recent scary climate news, with the worst El Niño in a thousand years recently reported 😓

It’s predicted to take us past not just 1.5C of average global heating for a period, but 2C. Climate researcher Dr Nicholas Beuret says, “this is the difference between what is merely dangerous climate change and absolute catastrophe.”

This “climate supercycle” will accelerate food prices, resource shortages, disrupt supply chains and increase economic instability.

It’s so easy to feel powerless, but every person and organisation has the power to instead contribute to a Just Transition and dramatically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Good morning 🌞 from Bangladesh. There’s a cool breeze after heavy rains yesterday. The early morning light makes the tools and machines of craft look positively steam punk as I walk around the handicraft Centre before the artisans arrive. If you have to fly BIMAN, Bangladesh national airline, rather than the oily ones via the Middle East you come into Sylhet, the beautiful tea growing area of northern Bangladesh, then Dhaka, saving 25% GHG emissions …! And great food & vintage inspired food tray too! Love this green. ( I am NOT sponsored to say this - as a climate activist, I don’t promote airlines, and turned down a big campaign from British Airways a few years back!) 🦋🦋🦋Here with the lovely & talented designer & comms pro @shaylasakora - we’re working on “Nature & Women” textile exhibit - together with @thanaparaswallows - an exhibition showing at Zandra Rhodes founded museum Fashion & Textile Museum, London in 2027. We’ll also be catching up with @indilisi_ crafts groups too!
