In February 2026, ITPC Los Angeles strengthened Indonesia and U.S. trade engagement through coordination meetings, showroom activities, industry discussions, and export capacity building programs. During the coordination activities, the delegation also visited @balicafemiami to observe the presence of Indonesian cuisine businesses in the U.S. market. ITPC Los Angeles also hosted a coffee brewing session at the ITPC LA showroom with @candtcollective, highlighting Indonesian coffee to U.S. industry partners and introducing Kopi Bang Jose @cektokobangjose

In addition, ITPC LA supported export capacity building programs including the UMKM market insight webinar with @beacukaimalang, the Desa Bisa Ekspor pitching session with @djpen.kemendag, and the webinar on strengthening market access for Indonesian tea to the U.S. organized by @kemendag @djpen.kemendag. ITPC Los Angeles also supported Indonesian participation at international exhibitions including @solarquestindonesia at Intersolar & Energy Storage North America in San Diego.

President Prabowo Subianto attended a business summit in Washington, D.C on February 18 held in his honor by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the US-ASEAN Business Council, and the U.S.-Indonesia Society (USINDO). The President’s delegation included several cabinet members. KADIN and APINDO also attended.

At the Business Summit, Indonesian and U.S. companies signed an estimated U.S. $38.4 billion in trade and investment MOU’s. At the Business Roundtable, President Prabowo shared his views on Indonesia’s development and his priority programs.

At the Iftar Dinner, President Prabowo shared a personal moment, reflecting on the legacy of his father, distinguished economist and former Minister of Finance Soemitro Djojohadikusumo. Through his advocacy with U.S. opinion makers, Professor Soemitro was instrumental in securing Indonesian independence from the Dutch. He shaped Indonesia’s economic foundations. He also served as founding Co-Chair of USINDO, as mentioned by President Prabowo.

During the visit, Indonesia and the United States also entered into the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, signed by Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the US, H.E. Indroyono Seosilo, and the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Houston, Hon. Ourina Ritonga, paid a courtesy call to the Mayor of Houston, John Whitmire, on February 9, 2026.

The meeting underscored the strategic importance of Houston and the State of Texas in advancing Indonesia–US relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, energy, and people-to-people connectivity.

Mayor Whitmire and Houston have been an incredible patron to multicultural diversity who always welcomed and respected international cultures.

Following the meeting, the Ambassador visited the USS Houston Monument at Sam Houston Park to pay respect to the fallen soldiers of the USS Houston, a United States warship that sank in 1942 during the Battle of the Java Sea near the Sunda Strait. The visit served as a tribute to the historical ties and shared sacrifices that form part of the broader Indonesia–US relationship.
