I’m actually quite a minimalist 😊
I don’t keep clothes I don’t wear or things I don’t need...

Except when it comes to plants 😅
And I think I know why...
My plants aren’t just things I own. They’ve brought me joy, comfort and something good to focus on. And after five years, almost every plant has a story behind it 💚

The hardest part? I don’t just see a plant as it is now. I see what it could become.
So when I think, “Maybe this one should go…”
my brain goes:
BUT WHAT IF IT BECOMES AMAZING?! 😅

Now I’m running out of space, so something has to change. Maybe I shouldn’t ask:
“Which plants can I give up?”
but:
“Which plants deserve the space they take up?”

It’s not exactly easy… 🥹

Bye bye, summer, and hello autumn! 🍂🌿

It’s been raining all day here to celebrate September 1st 😅🌧️ But I haven’t minded at all, I’ve been happily busy with my plants! 🤗
I got a fresh supply of Aroid Mix, so of course I immediately had to repot some of my Scindapsus and move a few of them into bigger pots.

My Monsteras are doing great too, with new growth popping up everywhere! 💚
In the photo, Monstera Mint is unfurling its newest leaf 💚🤍💚

MOSS POLE RESTART.

For anyone who grows tropical plants on moss poles, you know the struggle. You work to keep them growing, keep them sizing up, but eventually, once they reach a certain height, it's time for the chopping block & restart.

The newest, top-most mature section gets cut, reset into the pot with fresh potting mix, and the plant carries on growing like you never even touched it. If you do it right, give it good care, and provide the right conditions, the plant continues to mature and has a better chance of producing larger, more mature leaves.

Back in March, I had to do exactly that with my Monstera adansonii. In this video, I dismantle the plant, cut off the top section, remove the rest of the plant, take out the remaining moss poles, keep an insurance cutting for propagation, replant it, and add a fresh moss pole for it to continue climbing.

Fast forward to now, in July, and it has already reached the top of the second pole. Growing on moss poles isn't for everyone. It takes a lot of time and dedication to keep the moss hydrated, make sure the plant has extensions to climb, and stop it from growing off the end and hanging in space.

I currently have six plants growing on moss poles, but in hindsight I'd rather have just two or three that I know I truly love growing this way and stick with them until I feel it's time for a change.

Hello Begonia Monday💓

I’ve received quite a few questions about how I grow my 𝑩𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒂 𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒂. Truth is, I don’t do anything fancy. I fertilize every two months, keep the soil consistently moist (never soggy or bone dry), and let it grow in ambient humidity of around 80–90% with plenty of airflow. Sometimes, healthy plants don’t need complicated routines, just consistency and the right environment 🌿
I hope this helps your Begonia thrive too.

Yesterday, a few of my plants found new homes: a couple of Philodendrons, peace lily, Snowbush, small Adansonii Variegata, and both Pothos Bumpy and Jessenia..
A good start to downsizing...🤗

I only give plants to people who understand the importance of quarantine and I don't ask for money for the plants. Just one small thing in return: my white pots back whenever they no longer need them 🤗

I played a little game of plant Tetris this morning while moving plants from one room to another 😅

Lately I’ve become quite obsessed with Deliciosa variations, so I made room for them in the green room by relocating some of my other Monsteras to the guest room 💚

I’m pretty happy with the setup now… at least for the next week or two 😄
