Meet the Creator: Benjamin Walton ✨ Composer, lyricist, and playwright Benjamin Walton prides himself on creating original works that blend imagination with emotional honesty. His work often explores identity, mental health, and the beauty of seeing the world differently! @benjwaltonmusic His original musicals have been developed through Goodspeed, Joe’s Pub, 54 Below, the New York Public Library, and New York University’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. As the founder and Artistic Director of SandboxMusicals, he is also dedicated to championing the next generation of musical theatre writers. His newest musical, tame the noise, celebrates neurodivergence, self-discovery, and embracing the parts of ourselves the world often asks us to quiet. Introducing…Copla! Cádiz, 1939. From the streets of war-torn Spain to the stages of New York’s Ritz Hotel and Carnegie Hall, The Copla Musical follows La Gitana, a transgender singer whose journey is shaped by love, loss, exile, and resistance. Haunted by the sacrifices of those she left behind and torn between safety and truth, she must decide what freedom is truly worth. Inspired by traditional Spanish folk music and blending Copla, Flamenco, and musical theatre traditions, COPLA is a transformative new musical about queer survival, political resistance, and the courage to keep singing when the world demands silence. @coplacabaret Part of Milky Way Theatre Company’s 2026 New Works Festival 💫 #TheCopla #queertheatre #newworks #newmusical #MilkyWayTheatreCompany

Final semester dump heavily featuring graduation week and The Visit because… well what else was this semester really? 😂 Feeling so grateful and supported as I close this chapter 💗 Thank you to everyone who made this last semester more than I could have ever hoped for. I’m nervous to leave this place that has become my second home, but knowing I have so many people rooting for me inspires me to have the faith in myself that they do. I thank God for each and every person that has touched my experience at UF- I owe so much of who I am to each of you and I wouldn’t change the past four years for anything 🧡💙🐊 For now… ONWARD!
