POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

DR MICHAEL SUNBOLA

One of the moments that stood out for me at The Youth Conference 2026 was when @michaelsunbola shared the story of how he started the Lagos Food Bank.

I Listened to him talked about the early days, the challenges, the little beginnings, and how far the initiative has come was such an inspiration to me.

One of the words I grabbed from him last weekend while documenting TYC was:

“Do not allow your first validation to determine the extent of your conviction.”

These words really hit me.

As a volunteer , seeing the work they do and the number of lives he has impacted makes this story even more meaningful to me.

It reminded me that every great work starts somewhere. Sometimes, people may not see what you see at the beginning. You may not get the support, recognition, or validation you expect.
But that should not stop you from believing in what you are doing.

Keep showing up.
Keep serving.
Keep believing.
Keep moving.

Your first validation does not have to determine how far your conviction will take you. ❤️

The Power of Listening & Documentation

While photographing a recent meeting in Lagos, I observed something powerful — the way young minds paid intense attention to every word from the speaker.

There’s something inspiring about seeing listeners fully present focused eyes, calm posture, minds engaged.

I also admired how they documented the moment — some with notebooks and pens, others with smartphones and digital notepads. Different tools, same purpose: to capture knowledge.
Listening and documentation go hand in hand.

It takes intention, discipline, and vivid attention to truly grasp something meaningful.

Because in every great meeting, it’s not just about hearing words — it’s about understanding, recording, and growing from them.
